Hanbao Wetland Introduction
Located in the central coastal wetland of Changhua County, this area experiences very little human disruption, providing an excellent winter habitat for migratory birds. Up to 160 species of migratory birds come to this wetland to forage and spend the winter. The fiddler crabs burrow in and out of the soft sand, and under the warm sunlight, the black mud sparkles, inviting visitors to remove their shoes and socks and walk barefoot into the water. The gentle flow of shallow water and mud accompanies them, as the cool sensation rises from their toes. One can often spot various marine life, including shellfish, crabs, clams, fresh oysters, and small fish, playing hide and seek and experiencing the fun of the wetland.
