Craftsman: Huang Sha-rong Teacher Huang Sha-rong was born in a rural area of Fuxing Township. In 2013, he was registered as a traditional craftsman of traditional wood carving in Changhua County. After graduating from elementary school, he apprenticed under a master to learn the art of shrine carving and studied the "transom" craft at a Japanese company, skillfully applying "transom" carving techniques in his works. With a 51-year career in wood carving, he adeptly uses his hands to make wood carving art the essence of local traditional culture. Teacher Huang's works primarily feature orchids, utilizing the unique resilient texture of native Taiwan camphor to express the delicate grace of orchids. His carving skills are noteworthy, having won several prestigious awards such as the Huangxi Award at the Huangxi Art Exhibition, the first prize in the Crafts category at the 16th National Art Exhibition, and multiple other accolades including the Second Da-Dun Craftsman Award. Huang Sha-rong Wood Carving Workshop is located in the Fuba Dairy Cow Painting Village, Turtle Park, and Driftwood Seating area in Fuxing Township, Changhua County.
