Taiwan Craft House - Huang Sha-Rong Wood Carving Studio Introduction
Craftsman: Huang Sha-Rong Teacher Huang Sha-Rong was born in a rural area of Fuxing Township. In 2013, he was registered as a traditional craftsman and a preserver of traditional wood carving in Changhua County. After graduating from elementary school, he apprenticed with a master to learn religious altar carving and later studied "Lattice" craftsmanship at a company in Japan, skillfully applying Lattice carving techniques in his works. With a 51-year career in wood carving, he has adeptly used his hands to elevate wood carving art as the essence of local traditional culture. Teacher Huang's works primarily feature orchids, using Taiwan’s unique and resilient camphor wood to highlight the delicate grace of orchids beautifully. His carving skills are evident, having won multiple awards, including the Huangxi Award at the Huangxi Art Exhibition and the first prize in the crafts category at the 16th National Art Exhibition, as well as the second Craftsperson award at the Dadu Craft Exhibition. The Huang Sha-Rong Wood Carving Studio is located in Fuxing Township, Changhua County, at the Fubao Dairy Cattle Color Painting Village, Turtle Park, and Driftwood Landmark.
