Niutou Mountain, Louwomen Rock Introduction
Niutou Mountain, located at the northeastern cape of Green Island, is one of the island's landmarks, quietly lying at the northeast cape, watching over Green Island and every traveler who arrives. By walking north from Sanliao Fishing Port and passing by attractions such as the Green Island Visitor Center, Chaikou, and Oasis Resort, you can reach Niutou Mountain. Surrounded by the sea on three sides, the summit features a vast, lush grassland, making it an ideal spot for sea watching, tide observation, and enjoying sunsets. The sunset at Niutou Mountain is also one of the most spectacular views on Green Island, offering a different perspective compared to the sunset views from Chaoriyu Hot Springs and Green Island Lighthouse. From the heights of Niutou Mountain, you can admire the sunset slowly descending behind the Central Mountain Range, eventually disappearing, allowing you to experience a unique sense of beauty in desolation. Niutou Mountain also offers a distant view of Louwen Rock, which is located about 300 meters off the northeastern coast of Green Island. It is a series of protruding small coral reef rock formations, with the tallest one being eroded by waves, creating a circular tunnel in its center. From afar, it looks like an arch, thus earning the name "Louwen Rock." This is the most representative sea erosion cave of Green Island; powerboats can pass through it, allowing you to admire the stunning sea erosion caves above and observe the ever-changing underwater topography, alongside the beautiful summer scenery of waves crashing against the reef.
