Niutou Mountain, Loumen Rock Introduction
The northeastern cape of Green Island, Niu Tou Mountain is a landmark of Green Island, quietly lying at the northeastern cape, watching over Green Island and every traveler that arrives. Starting from Nanliao Fishing Port and heading north, passing by attractions such as the Green Island Tourist Center, Chai Kou, and Green Oasis Resort, you can reach Niu Tou Mountain. Surrounded by the sea on three sides, the summit has a vast expanse of lush grassland, making it an ideal place for sea appreciation, tidal observation, and watching the sunset; the sunset at Niu Tou Mountain is also one of the most beautiful sights on Green Island. Unlike the views of the sunset at Cha Ri Hot Springs and Green Island Lighthouse on the flatlands, viewing the sunset from above Niu Tou Mountain allows you to admire the sun slowly descending behind the Central Mountain Range, creating a different kind of melancholic beauty. From Niu Tou Mountain, you can see Lou Men Rock, located about 300 meters off the northeastern coast of Green Island. It is a series of small coral reef rocks protruding above the sea surface, with the largest one having been eroded by waves to form a round hole in the center. From a distance on Green Island, it resembles an arch, hence the name "Lou Men Rock," which is the most representative sea cave of Green Island. Powerboats can pass through it, allowing visitors to appreciate the breathtaking sea caves or observe the ever-changing underwater topography, paired with the beautiful summer scenery of waves crashing against the reefs.
