Niutoushan, Loumenyan Introduction
Niutoushan, located at the northeastern cape of Green Island, is a landmark of the island, quietly lying in wait and watching over Green Island and every visitor that arrives. From the Nanliao Fishing Port, heading north, you will pass by attractions such as the Green Island Visitor Center, Chaikou, and Oasis Resort before reaching Niutoushan. Surrounded by the sea on three sides, the summit of Niutoushan features a vast grassland, making it an ideal spot for seaside relaxation, tide watching, and sunset viewing. The sunset from Niutoushan is one of the most breathtaking sights on Green Island. Unlike the views of the sunset from Zhaori Hot Springs and the Green Island Lighthouse at sea level, the high vantage point of Niutoushan offers a unique perspective as the sun slowly sets over the Central Mountain Range, creating a different kind of melancholic beauty. From Niutoushan, you can gaze at Loumen Rock, located about 300 meters off the northeastern coast of Green Island. Loumen Rock is a series of small coral reef rocks protruding from the sea, with the tallest rock featuring an archway formed by wave erosion. Seen from a distance on Green Island, it resembles an arch, which is why it is called "Loumen Rock," the most representative sea cave on Green Island. Powerboats can sail through it, allowing visitors to admire the stunning sea-eroded cave or view the ever-changing underwater topography and the beautiful summertime scenes of waves crashing against the reefs.
