Luo Men Rock, Green Island Introduction
Lóu Mén Yán (Lóu Men Rock) is the tallest among a series of small coral reef rock formations, characterized by a round hole that cuts through its center, allowing ocean currents to flow through. From a distance, it resembles an archway and is one of the two most famous rock formations on Green Island. Lóu Mén Yán is a sea cave that stands majestically on the northeastern coast of Green Island, with tides flowing in and out of the cave, allowing visitors to experience the movement, crashing, and rhythm of the waves within, creating a magnificent sound, making it the best place to appreciate the rugged and bold beauty of the ocean. Lóu Mén Yán is also a paradise for seabirds and dolphins; in addition to viewing it from the island, one can also take a yacht or fishing boat to admire its grandeur from the sea, offering a different experience. Furthermore, exploring beneath the sea to observe the rich marine ecology under Lóu Mén Yán is another option. Nearby are other notable attractions such as Niú Tóu Shān (Niutou Mountain) and Guānyīn Dòng (Guanyin Cave), which are worth visiting to experience the simple and leisurely atmosphere of Green Island.
