Penghu Visitor Center Introduction
The Penghu Visitor Center provides exhibition explanations of tourist resources and travel consultation services. The multimedia presentation times are at 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, 2:30 PM, and 3:30 PM. Located in Magong City, the center offers travel consulting services and guided tours in the exhibition area, showcasing various exhibits such as traditional houses and models of the Penghu King Boats. Before traveling, visitors can stop by to learn about the history and culture of Penghu. After gathering plenty of travel information, you might stroll through the Penghu Leisure Park next to the visitor center. The park covers an area of 140 hectares and includes a forest conservation area, a water conservation area, a vegetable nursery area, and a flower sea scenic area. The flower sea area plants various ornamental flowers, such as petunias, lavender, and cosmos, according to different themes and seasons, offering the public a chance to appreciate their beauty. However, due to the strong northeast monsoons in Penghu, the growing environment for plants is harsh, making it challenging for them to thrive. The beautiful flower sea is the result of much hard work and experimentation by professionals. Within the vast park, you can walk along multiple shaded paths, including the Banyan Garden Boardwalk and the Yingcui Path. If you go to Tianren Lake next to the flower sea area, you can see the artificial landscape of "Little Double Heart Stone Weirs," allowing you to appreciate the unique scenery of Penghu without going to Qimei! The park also features Penghu's first outdoor classroom for soil and water conservation established in 1996, with a nearby collection system facility area, soil erosion simulation area, and cactus and succulent plant area, offering an environmental education function to help you further understand Penghu's unique topographical features and ecological environment.
