Penghu Visitor Center Introduction
Penghu Visitor Center is located in Magong City and provides tourism consultation services, along with guided explanations in the exhibition area featuring a rich collection of displays, such as columnar basalt and models of the Penghu Wang boats. Visitors can stop by here to learn about the history and culture of Penghu before their travels. After gathering plenty of travel information, you might consider taking a stroll in the adjacent Penghu Leisure Park, which covers an area of 140 hectares and includes a forest conservation area, a water source conservation area, a vegetable nursery area, and a flower sea landscape area. The flower sea landscape area plants various ornamental flowers such as petunias, lavender, and cosmos each year, according to different themes and seasons, for public enjoyment. However, due to the strong northeast monsoon in Penghu, the growing environment for plants is harsh, making it challenging for them to thrive. The beautiful flower sea is a result of the hard work and trials of professionals. Within the vast park, there are several shaded pathways, including the Banyan Garden Boardwalk and the Ying Cui Trail. If you walk to Tianren Lake next to the flower sea area, you'll find the artificial landscape of "Little Double Heart Stone Weir," allowing you to enjoy Penghu's unique scenery without having to go to Qimei! The park also features Penghu's first outdoor classroom for soil and water conservation, established in 1996, with facilities such as a water collection system area, soil erosion simulation area, and a cactus succulent garden, providing environmental education to help you further understand the unique topography and ecological environment of Penghu. The center offers explanations of Penghu's tourism resources, consultation services, and multimedia presentations at the following times: 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, 2:30 PM, and 3:30 PM.
