Ruisui Rafting Service Center Introduction
The Xiu Gu Lan River Visitor Center is currently undergoing reconstruction. The once massive tribal totem pillar landmark, which had cracked over the years due to earthquakes, has been dismantled. When it comes to water activities in the Hualien-Taitung region, nothing is more famous and thrilling than "Xiu Gu Lan River rafting." As early as the 1980s, Xiu Gu Lan River became the top choice for rafting activities in Taiwan. During the peak summer rafting season, the 24-kilometer stretch of river from the Ruisui Bridge to the Changhong Bridge is adorned with numerous bright red inflatable boats, creating a picturesque scene. Over 20 rapids of varying difficulty provide rafting tourists with an unforgettable experience filled with thrills and excitement, while the natural beauty along the river, including gorges and unique rock formations, leaves a lasting impression on rafters. The Ruigang Road, which winds along the river, sees countless vans shuttling back and forth to transport passengers between locations. The East Coast National Scenic Area Administration has established the Ruisui Rafting Service Center by the Xiu Gu Lan River south of the Ruisui Bridge. This service center, designed to resemble traditional indigenous architecture, not only introduces the ecological resources of the Xiu Gu Lan River rafting stretch, provides relevant information for tourists, and screens safety videos, but also features a camping area. It offers the most comprehensive services for visitors during the rafting season.
