Ruisui River Rafting Service Center Introduction
The Xiuguluan River Visitor Center is currently undergoing reconstruction, and the large totem pole landmark has been removed due to years of earthquake-induced cracks beyond repair. When it comes to water activities in the Hualien and Taitung areas, the most famous and thrilling is undoubtedly "Xiuguluan River Rafting." Since the 1980s, the Xiuguluan River has become the top choice for rafting in Taiwan. During the summer peak season, colorful red inflatable kayaks brighten up the 24-kilometer rafting stretch from Ruisui Bridge to Changhong Bridge. With over 20 varying levels of rapids and dangerous drops, rafting enthusiasts experience an unforgettable journey filled with excitement and thrill. The stunning natural scenery along the river, including gorges and peculiar rock formations, leaves a lasting impression on rafters. On the Ruigang Road that winds along the riverside, countless vans shuttle back and forth between the two points. The East Coast National Scenic Area Administration has established the Ruisui Rafting Service Center on the south side of Ruisui Bridge, by the banks of the Xiuguluan River. This service center, designed in the style of traditional indigenous architecture, not only introduces the ecological resources of the Xiuguluan River rafting section and provides relevant information for visitors but also screens safety videos and features a camping area. It offers comprehensive services to tourists during the rafting season.
