Shihpan Valley Cliff Art Forest Introduction
The Shipan Valley Cliff Art Forest is located next to the Shipan Valley Waterfall on the upper reaches of the Qiangang Creek. It features a massive natural rock face slope comparable in size to a football field. Above the slope, ropes are provided for visitors to pull themselves along. Many smooth-trunked trees, known as Glochidion, grow above this large rock slope. The villagers have named them based on different tree shapes, such as Grasshopper and Centipede, Giant Crab Tree, Spider King, and Deer Antler Fork, among others. The entire area is also referred to as the "Glochidion Art Forest." In addition, there are various other trees mixed in among the rocks. One particularly sought-after tree is a massive beech tree with knotted roots, known as the "Hundred-Year-Old Giant Beech." From here, there is a hiking trail that leads to the Jianan Yunfeng Triangulation Point, which takes about one and a half hours, continuing on to Caoling.
