Shihpan Valley Cliff Art Forest Introduction
Shihpan Valley Cliff Art Forest is located beside the Shihpan Valley Waterfall upstream of the Qian Keng Creek, featuring a natural rock surface steep cliff. It is as large as a football field, with ropes set up for visitors to pull themselves along the slope. Above this massive rock slope, many smooth-trunked Camphor trees (Cinnamomum camphora) grow, and villagers have named them based on their various shapes, such as Grasshopper and Centipede, Giant Crab Tree, Spider King, and Deer Antler Fork, among others. The entire area is also referred to as the "Camphor Art Forest." In addition, mixed among the trees on the cliff are a few different species, including a large and intricately rooted beech tree that is particularly favored and known as the "Centennial Beech." From here, there is a hiking route that leads to the Jinan Yunfeng Triangulation Point, with a journey of about one and a half hours before continuing to Caoling.
