Fenrui Old Trail Introduction
[Renovation complete, reopened!] For actual opening hours, please refer to the Taiwan Forest Recreation website. The view here is expansive, allowing you to see the beautiful mountains of the Ruifen area and the villages of Ruili and Ruifeng, and it is also an excellent spot to watch the sunset. Heading from the ruins of the Yin Yang Temple towards Ruili, you can pass several open areas to overlook Ta Mountain, Little Ta Mountain, Big Dong Mountain, and Shibi Mountain. At the 3.3K mark is the junction of the Fenrui Ancient Trail and the Changshan Ancient Trail. Taking the right path along the Changshan Ancient Trail leads to Taihe, but it is currently closed for repairs due to damage from Typhoon Morakot. The left path leads to the junction with the Ruitai Ancient Trail, where you can walk through paths intertwined with cypress forests and Moso bamboo groves, and see a giant bull camphor tree. Continuing along the ridge road down to the 5K mark brings you to a large Moso bamboo grove, and a steep slope beyond that will take you to the destination Ruili. *Please be cautious of locusts in certain areas.
