瑞奮古道

[Renovation completed, reopened!] For the actual opening hours, please refer to the Taiwan Forest Recreation website. The scenery here is expansive, allowing for a view of the beautiful mountains in the Ruifen area, as well as the mountain villages of Ruili and Ruifeng. It is also an excellent spot for watching sunsets. Heading from the Yin-Yang Temple ruins towards Ruili, you can overlook sights such as Ta Mountain, Little Ta Mountain, Big Dong Mountain, and Shibi Mountain through several open areas. At the 3.3K mark, there is a fork between the Fenrui Ancient Trail and the Changshan Ancient Trail. By taking the right path along the Changshan Ancient Trail, you can reach Taihe; however, it is currently closed for repairs due to damage from Typhoon Morakot. By taking the left path leading to the intersection with the Ruitai Ancient Trail, you will traverse a trail through a forest of Taiwania and Moso bamboo, where you will also see a giant Alstonia tree. Following the ridgeline down to the 5K mark brings you to a large area of Moso bamboo forest, and a further steep slope leads you to the endpoint, Ruili. *Please pay attention to the presence of leeches in some sections.
