South Cross Sky Pond Introduction
Nan Heng Tian Chi is located approximately 135 kilometers along the Nan Heng Highway in the Taoyuan District, at an elevation of 2,200 meters. This alpine lake, situated behind the Chang Qing Temple, is about 2 meters deep and never dries up. Due to its heart-like shape, it is referred to as "Heart Lake" and is also known as the "Heart of the Mountains." Because of its high altitude, it is often enveloped in clouds and mist, resembling a celestial lake. The lake's water is perpetually clear and emerald green, reflecting the lush mountain scenery like a bright mirror when viewed from the grassy slopes of arrow bamboo. A recommended stay duration is about 3 hours, and currently, some sections are restricted; entrants must leave the restricted area before 3 PM.
