Nan Heng Sky Lake Introduction
The Nan Heng Tian Chi (Southern Cross Sky Pond) is located approximately 135 kilometers along the Nan Heng Highway in the Taoyuan District. At an altitude of 2,200 meters, the pond lies behind the Changqing Shrine and remains perpetually filled with water, reaching depths of about 2 meters. It is a high-altitude lake, known as the Heart Lake due to its heart-like shape, and is also referred to as the Heart of the Mountains. Due to its high elevation, it is often shrouded in clouds and mist, resembling a mystical celestial pond. The water is crystal clear and emerald green, reflecting the lush mountain scenery like a bright mirror when viewed from the grassy slopes of arrow bamboo. A recommended stay time is about 3 hours. Currently, some sections of the road are under control, and visitors must leave the restricted area before 3 PM.
