Southern Cross Lake Introduction
Nan Heng Tian Chi is located about 135 kilometers along the Nan Heng Highway in the Taoyuan District. The Tian Chi, at an elevation of 2,200 meters, is situated behind the Changqing Shrine. It is a high mountain lake that never dries up, with a depth of about 2 meters. Due to its heart-shaped appearance, it is known as Heart Lake, and is also referred to as the Heart of the Mountain. Because of its high altitude, it is often shrouded in clouds and mist, creating a scene reminiscent of a heavenly lake. The lake's water is clear and emerald green, and when viewed from the slopes of arrow bamboo, it reflects the vibrant mountain scenery like a bright mirror. A suggested stay duration is about 3 hours. Currently, some sections of the road are restricted, and those entering must leave the restricted area by 3 PM.
