Nanjheng Tianchi Introduction
The South Cross Sky Pond is located approximately 135 kilometers along the South Cross Highway in the Taoyuan District, at an elevation of 2,200 meters. The pond, located behind the Changqing Shrine, never dries up and is about 2 meters deep, making it a high-altitude lake. Due to its heart-shaped form, it is known as the Heart Lake, and it is also referred to as the Heart of the Mountains. Because of its high altitude, it is often surrounded by clouds and mist, resembling a pond in the sky. The water remains clear and emerald green throughout the year; looking down from the slopes of arrow bamboo, it reflects the lush forest scenery like a bright mirror. It is recommended to stay for about 3 hours. Currently, some sections of the road are under control, and individuals entering must leave the controlled area before 3 p.m.
