Bajia Bay Coastal Recreation Area (Bajia Fishing Port) Introduction
Bajiliao Port was once the only non-silted harbor in Yunlin County, a bustling commercial port in ancient times with numerous vessels and thriving trade. However, due to sedimentation, its glory faded. Today, Bajiliao is mostly known for its milkfish ponds, shallow beaches for oyster cultivation, and ponds for raising eels and shrimp. The coastal sand beaches and wetland ecology have given Bajiliao a new lease on life, connecting the fishing port to the coastal corridor of Sanlian, attracting many visitors who enjoy cycling while taking in the scenery. At sunset, the orange-red sky complemented by the towering wind turbines presents a breathtaking view. Along the road leading from the fishing village to the port area, dedicated bike lanes have been established, making it a great spot for walking and cycling activities, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the warmth of the sun, the ocean tides, and the vibrant fishing harbor.
