Bazi Liao Oh Bear Art Village Introduction
Centered around the Puziliao Putian Temple, artists are invited to create art for this small fishing village, humorously reinterpreting Eastern Chinese mythology in line with the legendary character of the local temple. The renowned temples in the Sihu area, such as the Haiqing Temple and the Bao Gong Temple, feature well-known mythological figures like Ba Qing Tian, Pangu, the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl, Nezha battling the Dragon King of the East Sea, Journey to the West, and Chang'e flying to the moon as themes for their murals. The total length of these artworks exceeds 1 kilometer, injecting more vitality into Puziliao through these engaging creations. In 2018, to enhance the uniqueness of Puziliao, local specialties like catches and fishing village life were incorporated into the concept of the artworks. Additionally, the Tourism Bureau's mascot "Oh Bear" was chosen as a theme for the creations, leading to the establishment of the "Oh Bear Art Village" featuring 4D sculptures and the unique "double-sided paintings" found only in Taiwan, making the entire art village more vibrant and entertaining, thus attracting both domestic and international visitors as a popular photo spot.
