Taoyuan Valley Introduction
The vast grasslands stretching over three kilometers feel like stepping into a utopia, resembling a fairyland where one can escape the clamor of the world by climbing high and gazing far. Known as T桃源谷 (Peach Blossom Valley), this area was formerly called 繋牛仔山 (Kuan Niu Tsai Mountain) and served as a place for children to herd cattle and play during farming breaks. Today, it is one of the favorite hiking trails among tourists, renowned for its three-kilometer stretch of gently sloping green hills, like a large green carpet woven by nature. On clear days, one can enjoy a 360-degree view, looking eastward at the Pacific Ocean and northward at Longdong Cape. In the autumn and winter, strong monsoons bring clouds to the Peach Blossom Valley, and the white back reeds on the mountains create waves in the mountain and sea breezes, painting a fresh and charming pastoral scene. As the name suggests, T桃源谷 is the origin of the Peach Blossom Spring for the Wuling people, embodying tranquility and peace away from the hustle and bustle of society. With a few houses nearby, where the smoke from cooking rises and the sounds of chickens and dogs are heard, hikers will undoubtedly have a lasting impression of this earthly paradise. The traditional route to Peach Blossom Valley begins from the Renze Community, with a segment of steep upward terrain that winds and twists, ultimately leading to an open area. The views from above elevate one's spirit as the scenery unfolds. Continuing towards the wide grasslands filled with natural charm, friends and family can sit together, chat, or lie in a comfortable star shape, gazing at the blue sky while enjoying the gentle mountain and sea breezes. From the highest point, Lanyang Plain and Guishan Island lie at one’s feet, where mountains meet the sea, and the human presence feels distant, truly a heavenly paradise.
