Honeymoon Bay Introduction
Daxi is famous for its crescent-shaped bay, with clear blue waters that attract couples to linger, earning it the nickname "Honeymoon Bay." Visitors can stroll along the soft sandy beach, collect pebbles to skip on the water, or look for the roaming devil crabs, creating a romantic atmosphere. The northern and southern sides of Honeymoon Bay are lined with reefs, while only a small central portion has soft sand. In addition to the beautiful scenery suitable for swimming and sightseeing, the bay's vastness and the dramatic underwater topography several hundred meters offshore often generate 2 to 3-meter high waves, making it a paradise for water sports and surfing. Every year, it attracts many extreme challengers to participate in national surfing competitions. A 30-minute hike from the trailhead near Ming Mountain Temple leads to a peak called Ying Shijian, which stands at 441 meters. From this elevation, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Turtle Island and overlook the stunning bay, offering another option for scenic appreciation.
