Honeymoon Bay Introduction
Daxi is known for its crescent-shaped, graceful bay and its clear, blue waters, where couples can often be seen lingering and enjoying themselves, earning it the nickname "Honeymoon Bay." Visitors can stroll along the fine sandy beaches, collect pebbles to skip on the water, or look for the running devil crabs, all in a romantic atmosphere. The bay features rocky shores on both the north and south sides, with only a small central area of soft sand beach. In addition to its beautiful scenery suitable for water play and sightseeing, the expansive bay has a seafloor that undulates several hundred meters from the coast, often generating waves of 2 to 3 meters high, making it a holy land for water activities and surfing. Each year, it attracts numerous extreme challengers to participate in national surfing competitions. A 30-minute walk from the trailhead near Ming Mountain Temple leads to Ying Shijian, a nearby peak standing at 441 meters, where visitors can enjoy sweeping views of Turtle Island and the magnificent bay below, offering another option for appreciating the scenery.
