Honeymoon Bay Introduction
Daxi is famous for its crescent-shaped, winding bay with clear blue waters, where couples often leave lingering impressions, earning it the beautiful nickname "Honeymoon Bay." Here, one can stroll along the soft sandy beach, pick up pebbles to skip stones, or search for the fast-running devil crabs, all surrounded by a romantic atmosphere. On the north and south sides of Honeymoon Bay, there are rocks, with only a small portion in the middle consisting of soft sand. Besides its picturesque scenery and opportunities for water activities, the expansive bay features a seabed with significant undulations hundreds of meters off the coast, often creating waves that rise 2 to 3 meters high, making it a paradise for water sports and surfing. Each year, a number of extreme challengers are drawn here to participate in national surfing competitions. From the trailhead near Ming Shan Temple, a 30-minute walk leads to a nearby peak called Ying Shijian, standing at 441 meters high, where you can enjoy sweeping views of Turtle Island and overlook the magnificent bay, offering another option for scenic appreciation.
