Honeymoon Bay Introduction
Daxi is famous for its crescent-shaped bay, known for its clear and blue waters, where couples often linger and enjoy the scenery, earning it the nickname "Honeymoon Bay." Visitors can stroll along the soft sandy beach, collect pebbles to skip stones, or search for the running devil crabs, all while soaking in the romantic atmosphere. The bay is surrounded by rocky formations on both its northern and southern sides, with only a small portion in the middle featuring fine sandy beaches. In addition to its beautiful scenery for swimming and sightseeing, the expansive bay and its underwater topography, which varies significantly hundreds of meters offshore, often create waves that rise to 2 to 3 meters, making it a hotspot for water activities and surfing. Each year, many extreme sports enthusiasts are drawn here to participate in national surfing competitions. A 30-minute hike from the trailhead next to Ming Mountain Temple leads to a nearby peak known as Ying Shih Jiao, which stands at 441 meters. From this high vantage point, visitors can gaze out at Turtle Island and overlook the magnificent bay below, offering another excellent opportunity for scenic views.
