Honeymoon Bay Introduction
Daxi is famous for its crescent-shaped bay with azure and crystal-clear waters, often attracting couples who linger in the beauty of the scenery, earning it the nickname "Honeymoon Bay." Visitors can stroll along the soft sandy beach, collect pebbles to skip across the water, or search for the devil crabs scuttling along the shore, all amidst a romantic atmosphere. The north and south sides of Honeymoon Bay are lined with rocky formations, while only a small part in the center consists of soft sand. In addition to its scenic beauty, which allows for swimming and enjoying the views, the bay is expansive, and the underwater terrain, hundreds of meters from the shore, varies greatly. This often leads to waves that can reach heights of 2 to 3 meters, making it a hotspot for water activities and surfing, and attracting numerous extreme sports challengers to participate in national surfing competitions each year. A 30-minute hike from the trailhead next to Ming Mountain Temple will take you to Ying Shih Chien, a peak standing at 441 meters high, where you can enjoy the view of the distant Turtle Island and overlook the magnificent bay. The broad vista and beautiful scenery provide another option for sightseeing.
