Yuanshan Scenic Area Water Park Introduction
The Caoling Historic Trail is one of the most famous hiking trails in northern Taiwan. The northern entrance is located in the Yuanwangkang area of Gongliao District, surrounded by mountains in a tranquil valley. As you walk along the trail among the original terraced fields and stream valleys, you can only hear the melodies of birds and the gurgling of flowing water. In late summer and early autumn, the fragrant wild ginger flowers bloom, making it feel like a paradise on earth. At the entrance of Gongliao District, there is a small yet richly designed Yuanwangkang Riverside Park. Visitors can overlook the quaint terraced fields and the scenery of the natural ecological pond. Continuing along the stone pathway by the stream, you will arrive at a tranquil pond where a small arched bridge and a double water pavilion stand. Crossing the arched bridge leads to a viewing bridge, where the crystal-clear stream reveals schools of Taiwan brook chub and bitterling fish swimming in mesmerizing swarms. This peaceful and beautiful valley is an excellent destination for nature and ecological tourism.
