Yuanshan Keng Waterfront Park Introduction
The Caoling Old Trail is one of the most famous hiking trails in the northern region of Taiwan. The northern entrance is located in the Yuanshan area of Gongliao District. Nestled in a tranquil valley surrounded by mountains, visitors can stroll along the trail amidst primitive terraced fields and stream valleys, only hearing the harmonious sounds of birds and flowing water. In late summer and early autumn, the fragrant wild ginger blossoms bloom, creating a paradise on earth. At the entrance of Gongliao District, there is a small but richly landscaped Yuanshankeng Waterfront Park. Visitors can overlook the quaint terraced rice fields and the natural ecological pond scenery. Walking along the stone path by the stream leads to a calm pond, where a small arch bridge and a double-water pavilion stand. Crossing the arch bridge to reach the viewing bridge, the crystal-clear stream reveals schools of Taiwanese minnow and bitterling fish swimming together, creating a magnificent sight. This serene valley landscape makes it an excellent destination for nature and ecological tourism.
