Yuanshan Riverside Park Introduction
The Caoleng Ancient Trail is one of the most renowned hiking paths in the northern region of Taiwan. The northern entrance is located in the Yuanshan Keng area of Gongliao District. In this tranquil valley surrounded by mountains, visitors can stroll along the path through pristine terraced fields and stream valleys, enjoying the harmonious sounds of birdsong and flowing water. During late summer and early autumn, the fragrant white wild ginger flowers bloom, creating an idyllic paradise. At the entrance of Gongliao District, there is a small yet richly landscaped Yuanshan Keng Riverside Park. Visitors can admire the rustic terraced fields and the natural ecological pond. Continuing along the stone path by the stream leads to a serene pond featuring a charming arch bridge and a double water pavilion. Crossing the arch bridge to the viewing bridge, the crystal-clear water reveals schools of Taiwanese creek loaches and bitterling fish, creating a spectacular sight. This tranquil valley is an excellent destination for nature ecological tourism.
