Yuanshan Lake Hydrophilic Park Introduction
The Caoling Historical Trail is one of the most famous hiking trails in the northern region of Taiwan. The northern entrance is located in the Yuanwangkou area of Gongliao District. Surrounded by mountains, this tranquil valley offers a pathway where visitors can stroll through pristine terraced fields and valleys, accompanied only by the sounds of birds and the gentle flow of water. During the late summer and early autumn, wild ginger flowers bloom abundantly, creating a sense of being in a hidden paradise. At the entrance in Gongliao District, there is a small yet beautifully designed Yuanwangkou Riverside Park. Visitors can enjoy views of the quaint terraced fields and natural ecological ponds. Continuing along the stone pathway by the stream leads to a calm pond, featuring a charming arched bridge and a double pavilions. Crossing the arched bridge to reach a scenic overlook, the crystal-clear stream reveals groups of Taiwanese loaches and bitterling swimming, creating a spectacular scene in this serene valley. It is an excellent location for nature ecological tourism.
