Taichung City Library Waipu Branch Introduction
The Waipu Branch stands on Section 3 of Jiahou Road, featuring a white main structure characterized by a vertically segmented design. The facade, adorned with a continuous row of windows, is simple and sleek, earning it the nickname "Little White House." It resembles a collection of well-placed books on a shelf, waiting for the public to admire and browse. The exterior design of the Waipu Branch echoes the pastoral impression of Waipu, with large glass curtain walls that incorporate expansive green landscapes and the distant scenery of Huoyan Mountain and Tie'an Mountain, allowing visitors to fully experience the leisurely ambiance of reading accompanied by mountains. The first-floor area for seniors is specially arranged with sofas, long reading tables, and appropriately high bookshelves to create a cozy living room atmosphere, enabling elderly patrons to read comfortably. The children's reading area is thoughtfully designed with colors and shapes to create a joyful reading space. Ascending the spiral staircase along the book wall to the second and third floors, minimalistic wooden furniture complements large floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing distant mountain views, enhancing the joy of reading here amid the picturesque landscape.
