Lover's Lake Park Introduction
Lover's Lake Park is located on the slopes of Dawulun Mountain and is formed by the convergence of six mountain streams. It is the only highland lake in Keelung, featuring exquisite and beautiful scenery reminiscent of a small, delicate gem. The surrounding area is lush with vegetation, and the lake's emerald waters reflect the mountain and water scenery, providing a fresh and pleasant atmosphere. In the spring and summer, the area is filled with the sounds of insects and birds, as colorful butterflies dance around, making it a worthwhile destination for nature lovers. Originally named "Wuchabei," the lake was renamed Lover's Lake due to the frequent activities organized by the Keelung Youth Corps here. The park includes facilities such as a lakeside trail, a mountain trail, the Lover's Suspension Bridge, pavilions, and viewing platforms, with lush trees lining both sides of the trails, showcasing the beauty of various plants in different seasons. Strolling through the park allows visitors to enjoy a phytoncide forest bath while appreciating the picturesque lake and mountain scenery. The mountain trail at Lover's Lake Park leads to the sea-facing peak known as Eagle Rock, where visitors can admire the ocean from the ridge trail. Here, one can see the Dawulun Port nearby, as well as a distant view of Keelung Islet and Yehliu Cape, offering a refreshing and uplifting experience. Another explanation for the name Lover's Lake is that the park contains two interconnected lakes, one large and one small, resembling lovers cuddling and accompanying each other.
