No. 1 Eel Workshop Introduction
Many people do not know that in Punan Village, Kouhu Township, there is a place known as the "Hometown of Eels," which is also the only community in Taiwan that is entirely dedicated to eel farming. Since the first eel pond was established in 1969, by the peak of the eel industry in 1986, almost 96% of the village was involved in eel farming. This not only created an economic miracle in Taiwan but also earned the title of the "Kingdom of Eels." The First Eel Wave, as the name suggests, is the first eel pond in the Hometown of Eels. It has witnessed the hardships of the eel industry and embodies the resilient spirit of the Hai Kou people, who faced harsh environments with determination and hard work, never bowing to fate.
