Hsiang Yi Rice Noodles Introduction
Established in 1982, Tianmao Co., Ltd. was renamed Xiangyi Food Co., Ltd. in January 2003, primarily producing rice noodles. The owner, Lin Ming-hsing, along with his wife, Ms. Li Qiu-xia, worked hard to create the rice noodle factory. Ms. Li was recognized for her dedication to agricultural transformation and was awarded the "Shennong Award" as one of the top ten outstanding farmer women in Taiwan in 1994, with the guidance of the rice production and marketing group in Kouhu Township. Due to their exceptional manufacturing techniques and strict quality control, they gained favor with the Japanese market, leading to exports to Japan and creating more job opportunities for local women. To promote industrial leisure tourism, they collaborated with the Jinhu Leisure Agricultural Area visitor center to plan a series of industry experience activities, offering extracurricular teaching activities for elementary and middle schools, such as handmade DIY rice noodle creative cooking.
