Yang Mama's Diner

Taipei Foods

This small shop, located in a lane in Luzhou and operating for over 20 years, has built a reputation through its delicious Ah-Gei and sweet potato balls, attracting more and more regular customers. The bean curd skin is filled with chewy braised rice noodles and wrapped in fresh fish paste, served in a steaming bowl of sweet potato ball soup, allowing you to enjoy both the Ah-Gei and the soup in one bite, or mix the noodles into the soup for a different flavor. The special sauce drizzled over the Ah-Gei and sweet potato balls is another reason why people can't forget this dish. Local residents and students have been enjoying it for years, with even customers who have moved to central and southern Taiwan returning specifically to eat here. This cozy little shop's Ah-Gei is a bit different from the ones you find in Tamsui, as it can be served in both soup and dry styles. The delicious companion sauce for the Ah-Gei is the result of the owner's years of experience, made from a base of miso, yellow soybean, and chili, then sautéed and sweetened. The unique ratio of ingredients makes the sauce sweet yet not overly rich, perfectly complementing the Ah-Gei. Yang Mama's Snack Shop has now passed to the second generation, and in order to promote traditional snacks, the old shop has been renovated, with meal models added at the entrance, and air conditioning installed inside, creating a comfortable dining experience akin to a restaurant. They have also utilized online services to offer delivery, ensuring that the authentic flavors remain unchanged, allowing those who do not live in Luzhou to taste the owner's excellent cooking. Recommended dish: Ah-Gei.
