Yang Mama Little Restaurant

Taipei Foods

This small shop, operating for over 20 years in the alleys of Luzhou, relies on the delicious reputation of A-gei and sweet potato balls, attracting an increasing number of loyal customers. The bean curd skin is filled with chewy braised vermicelli and wrapped in fresh fish paste, served in a steaming bowl of sweet potato ball soup, allowing customers to enjoy both the A-gei and the broth in one bite, as well as mix the vermicelli into the soup for a different taste. The special sauce drizzled over the A-gei and sweet potato balls is another unforgettable reason to visit. Local residents and students have been coming here for years, and even customers who have moved to central and southern Taiwan make special trips back for a meal. The A-gei at this cozy little shop differs slightly from the ones in Tamsui, as it can be served in both soup and dry styles. The perfect partner for the delicious A-gei, the "sauce," is the result of the owner's years of experience, created with a base of miso, yellow soybeans, and chili, then sautéed with sugar. The unique proportions make the sauce sweet but not overpowering, complementing the A-gei perfectly. Yang Mama's Snack Bar has now been passed down to the second generation, and to promote traditional snacks, the old shop has been renovated, with meal models added to the entrance and air conditioning installed inside, providing a comfortable restaurant experience. They have also launched a delivery service online, allowing those who do not live in Luzhou to enjoy the owner’s delicious cooking without losing any of the original flavors. Recommended dish: A-gei.
