Yang Mama's Small Eatery Introduction
This small shop, operating for over 20 years in the alleys of Luzhou, has built its reputation on the deliciousness of A-gei and sweet potato balls, attracting more and more loyal customers. The tofu skin is filled with chewy braised vermicelli, wrapped in fresh fish paste, and placed in a steaming bowl of sweet potato ball soup, allowing you to enjoy a bite of A-gei and a sip of soup, or mix the vermicelli into the soup for a different flavor. The special sauce drizzled over the A-gei and sweet potato balls is a memorable aspect of the dish. Local residents and students have been enjoying it for many years, with even customers who have moved to central and southern Taiwan returning specifically to eat here. The A-gei from this warm little shop differs somewhat from that of Tamsui, as it can be served in both soup and dry styles. The perfect companion to the delicious A-gei is the sauce, which is the culmination of the owner's years of experience, made with a base of miso, yellow soybeans, and chili peppers, then sautéed and sweetened. The unique proportions make the sauce sweet without being overwhelming, perfectly complementing the A-gei. Yang Mama's Small Kitchen has passed to the second generation, who have refurbished the old shop to promote traditional snacks, adding food models at the entrance and air conditioning inside, creating a comfortable dining experience akin to a restaurant. They have also launched a delivery service online, allowing those who don't live in Luzhou to enjoy the owner’s excellent culinary skills. Recommended dish: A-gei.
