Bihua Cloth Street (San Chong Cloth Museum Park) Introduction
During the Qing Dynasty's Xianfeng period, the Tamsui River's eastern Dadaocheng commercial area flourished, which in turn promoted the development of Sanchongpu. Sanchongpu refers to the present-day Sanchong District and Luzhou District in New Taipei City. Sanchong was always part of Luzhou Township until 1947 when it was officially separated. Due to its convenient geographic location and proximity to Taipei City, many migrants from other areas choose to rent or buy houses here, making it the place with the highest immigrant population around Taipei City. When the domestic economy took off, the phrase "living room equals factory" characterized Sanchong at that time, with many families engaging in product processing. Given the large scale of production, Sanchong was able to support a significant portion of Taiwan's mechanical parts industry. When one is unfamiliar with Sanchong, it may seem chaotic, but once you get to know it, you will find an underlying order, and after becoming familiar, it will feel incredibly warm. Bihua Cloth Street in Sanchong was originally a fabric wholesale location, rooted in the concept of frugality and resourcefulness, making use of scraps of fabric by categorizing, organizing, and creatively applying them, thus creating the stylish cloth street. There are many fresh and interesting things here waiting for you to discover!
