Nanao Farm Introduction
Nan’ao Farm is located at the southernmost end of the Lanyang Plain, offering electricity and water supply, barbecue areas, and clean bathroom facilities. Besides handwashing stations, there are also drinking fountains available, which is quite thoughtful. There is no shelter on the vast grassland, and the farm is surrounded by minimal light pollution, providing a mild climate and good visibility. It also boasts no air pollution and a dazzling night sky, making it ideal for astronomy and stargazing. The surrounding natural landscapes such as mountains, streams, and coastlines are abundant, making it suitable for ecological tourism, farm experiences, group activities, and family events. With such diverse ecology available at no extra cost, the expansive grounds and comfortable facilities make it a popular destination for returning visitors. Nan’ao Farm was originally operated by the Land Bank under the Ministry of Finance. In 1999, it was taken over by the Yilan County Government. Currently, it is operated in cooperation between the National Property Administration and the Yilan County Government, and it has been planned and opened as a leisure farm to promote recreational agriculture and to provide travel opportunities for citizens.
