Chaoyang National Trail Introduction
Chaoyang National Trail is located on the Guishan Hill on the south side of the Chaoyang community in Nanao Village. The trail has three entrances and is approximately 2.2 kilometers long. Along the way, there are four viewing platforms where visitors can take a break and enjoy stunning views of the Suhua Coastal Highway, Wushi Nose Gorge, Love Lake, Mandarin Duck Mountain, and the mysterious beach. The area surrounding the Chaoyang National Trail is rich in diverse native plants, birds, and amphibians. You may often see the Black-faced Spoonbill perched on tree tops or unexpected visitors appearing among the grass. The trail not only provides opportunities for hiking and relaxation but also allows visitors to learn about the flora and fauna along the way. Additionally, there are plant identification signs along the trail, listing plants named after the 12 zodiac animals by their names or homophones. Walking under the shade of trees, the trail becomes progressively gentler and ultimately leads to the highest point, Guishan. Standing atop Guishan, one can admire the blue Pacific Ocean and the fjord, appreciate the beauty of Nanao Fishing Port, and watch the sunrise over the sea, making it a great place to visit for different scenic views throughout the seasons.
