Dongyue Spring Introduction
Dongyue Spring is located beside Dongao Elementary School in Su'ao Township, Yilan. The water temperature year-round averages between 14 to 16 degrees Celsius, and the spring water is clear, allowing visitors to see small fish swimming about, making it a popular summer retreat for locals. With widespread sharing on the internet, it has attracted many tourists to enjoy the water, becoming a popular spot during the summer vacation in Su'ao. The park is equipped with facilities such as camping areas, resting spots, and public restrooms, and there is a parking lot across the street that can accommodate a large number of visitors. Dongyue Spring was formed when underground water sources were accidentally exposed during the construction of the double-track railway along the North-Link Line, and the cold water was specifically channeled into the Dongao River, extending several hundred meters before being developed into Dongyue Spring Park. The average depth of the spring water is about 60 centimeters, and the bottom is filled with stones, so parents should closely supervise their children if they come to play in the water to avoid any accidents. While enjoying the water at Dongyue Spring, one can also see trains passing overhead on the bridge, while many people play in the water below, creating an interesting scene. However, visitors should be aware that barbecuing is prohibited in the park to help maintain a clean environment for this wonderful cooling spot.
