Dongyue Spring Introduction
Dongyue Spring is located next to Dongao Elementary School in Su'ao Township, Yilan. The water temperature is around 14 to 16 degrees Celsius year-round, and the spring water is crystal clear, allowing visitors to see small fish swimming below the surface. It is a popular summer retreat for locals. As word spread widely on the internet, it attracted many tourists who come to enjoy the water, becoming a popular summer destination in Su'ao. The park is equipped with camping areas, resting spots, public restrooms, and there is a parking lot across the street that can accommodate a large number of visitors. Dongyue Spring was created when a water vein was accidentally uncovered during the construction of the dual-track railway in the North Link Line, and the cold water source was introduced into Dongao Creek, extending several hundred meters, and subsequently developed into Dongyue Spring Park. The average depth of the spring water is about 60 centimeters, and the bottom is covered with stones, so parents need to supervise their children closely while playing in the water to avoid accidents. While enjoying the water at Dongyue Spring, visitors can look up to see trains passing over the bridge, with many people playing in the water below, creating an interesting scene. However, while enjoying this refreshing retreat on hot summer days, please note that barbecuing is prohibited in the park to maintain a clean environment.
