Dongyue Spring Introduction
Dongyue Spring is located next to Dongao Elementary School in Su'ao Township, Yilan, and maintains a water temperature of about 14 to 16 degrees Celsius throughout the year. The spring water is clear and bottom-visible, with small fish swimming around, making it a popular summer getaway for locals. With extensive online sharing, it has attracted many tourists, becoming a popular spot in Su'ao during the summer vacation. The park is equipped with camping areas, rest spots, and public restrooms, and there is a parking lot across the street to accommodate a large number of visitors. Dongyue Spring was created when an underground water vein was accidentally uncovered during the construction of the North Link Line double-track project, leading to the introduction of the cold water into Dongao Creek, extending for several hundred meters, and later developed into Dongyue Spring Park. The spring water has an average depth of about 60 centimeters, and the bottom is covered with stones, so parents should closely supervise children playing in the water to avoid accidents. While enjoying the water in Dongyue Spring, visitors can see trains passing by on the bridge overhead, with many people playing in the water below, creating an interesting scene. However, when coming to enjoy the water during the hot summer days, please be aware that barbecuing is prohibited in the park to maintain a clean environment in this beautiful cooling spot.
