Dongyue Spring Introduction
Dongyue Hot Spring is located near Dongao Elementary School in Nanao Township, Yilan County, and is one of the most popular free swimming spots in the area during the summer. The spring water was accidentally tapped from an underground water vein during the construction of the dual-track railway of the North-Link Line. The water is clear and maintains a constant temperature of about 14 to 16 degrees Celsius year-round, making it extremely refreshing even in the hot summer. In 2007, the Nanao Township Office planned this area as "Dongyue Hot Spring Park," which has now become a well-equipped family-friendly attraction. For transportation, visitors can take the train to Dongao Station and walk about 15 to 20 minutes to reach the site.
