Dongyue Spring Introduction

Dongyue Spring is located next to Dongao Elementary School in Su'ao Township, Yilan, with a year-round water temperature of about 14 to 16 degrees Celsius. The spring water is clear, allowing visitors to see small fish swimming around, making it a popular summer retreat for locals. With widespread online sharing, it has attracted many tourists looking to play in the water, becoming a popular summer destination in Su'ao. The park features facilities such as camping areas, resting spots, and public toilets, and there is a parking lot across the road that can accommodate a large number of visitors. Dongyue Spring was discovered when underground water veins were accidentally excavated during the construction of the double-track railway on the North-Link Line, leading to the diversion of the cold water into Dongao Creek, extending several hundred meters. It was later planned to become Dongyue Spring Park. The spring water has an average depth of about 60 centimeters and is covered with stones, so parents should closely supervise their children while playing in the water to avoid accidents. While enjoying the water at Dongyue Spring, one can also see trains passing overhead on the bridge, with many people playing in the water below, creating an interesting scene. However, visitors should note that barbecuing is prohibited in the park to help maintain a clean environment at this beautiful summer retreat.
