Dongyue Spring Introduction
Dongyue Spring is located next to Dongao Elementary School in Su'ao Township, Yilan, with water temperatures averaging between 14 to 16 degrees Celsius year-round. The spring water is crystal clear, allowing visitors to see small fish swimming around, making it a popular summer retreat for locals. With widespread sharing on the internet, it has attracted many tourists and become a hotspot during the summer vacation in Su'ao. The park features camping areas, rest stations, and public toilets, as well as a parking lot across the street that can accommodate a large number of visitors. Dongyue Spring was discovered during the construction of the dual-track railway on the North Link Line when an underground water vein was accidentally unearthed. The cold water source was then channeled into Dongao Creek, extending several hundred meters, and later developed into Dongyue Spring Park. The average depth of the spring water is about 60 centimeters, with a bottom covered in stones. Parents should supervise their children closely while playing in the water to prevent accidents. While enjoying the water at Dongyue Spring, visitors can also see trains passing overhead on the bridge, with many people playing below, creating an interesting scene. However, it is important to note that barbecuing is prohibited in the park to maintain its clean environment.
