Mingchi Forest Recreation Area Introduction
Mingchi Forest Recreation Area is situated at an elevation between 1,150 and 1,700 meters, featuring rich original ecology. It is common to see mandarin ducks and mallards by the lakeside, as well as the presence of birds and squirrels moving through the forest. Surrounded by towering trees, one cannot help but indulge in the refreshing essence of the forest. Mingchi, also known as Chiduan, is a high mountain artificial lake embraced by dense forests, often enveloped in mist and clouds. The clear green waters of Mingchi have an ethereal beauty, earning it the nickname "Pearl of the Northern Cross-Island Highway," resembling a fairyland. The lakeside garden within the park is a must-visit site in Mingchi Forest Recreation Area, designed with garden and water features that include charming bridges, flowing water, pavilions, and structures inspired by ancient Chinese architectural styles. The area includes a Compassion Garden, a Fern Garden, a Quiet Stone Garden, a Sun Yat-sen Birthday Commemoration Garden, and forest trails. Walking along the lakeside trail allows visitors to appreciate the dreamlike and tranquil beauty of Mingchi from various perspectives.
