Mingchi Forest Recreation Area Introduction
Mingchi Forest Recreation Area is located at an altitude of approximately 1,150 to 1,700 meters, rich in original ecology. It is common to see Mandarin ducks and mallards by the lakeside, and the forest is often alive with birds and squirrels. Surrounded by towering forests, visitors can’t help but indulge in the baptism of forest phytoncides. Mingchi, also known as Chiduan, is an artificial alpine lake embraced by forests, where clouds and mists linger throughout the year. The emerald waters of Mingchi exude a hazy beauty, earning it the title of the "Jewel of the Northern Cross" and making it resemble a fairyland. The lakeside garden within the park is a must-visit attraction at Mingchi Forest Recreation Area. Designed with a garden landscape featuring small bridges and flowing water, pavilions, and pools in the style of ancient Chinese architecture, it includes a Compassion Garden, a Fern Garden, a Quiet Stone Garden, a Father of the Nation's Birthday Memorial Forest, and forest trails. Walking along the lakeside path, visitors can appreciate the dreamlike and serene beauty of Mingchi from different angles. Following the sloped trail, one can gaze at the alpine wilderness and admire the blooming flowers, experiencing the wonders of nature.
