Mingchi Forest Recreation Area Introduction

Mingchi Forest Recreation Area is situated at an elevation of approximately 1,150 to 1,700 meters. Its pristine ecology is rich, often attracting mandarin ducks and mallards to the lakeside, while birds and squirrels can frequently be seen darting through the forest. Surrounded by towering trees, visitors cannot help but indulge in the cleansing embrace of the forest's phytoncides. Also known as Chitan, Mingchi is a high mountain artificial lake surrounded by dense forests and enveloped in mist throughout the year. The emerald waters of Mingchi carry a dreamy beauty, earning it the title of "Pearl of the North Cross Highway," resembling a fairyland. The lakeside gardens within the area are a must-visit attraction when coming to the Mingchi Forest Recreation Area. It also includes a Compassion Garden, Fern Garden, Quiet Stone Garden, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Park, and forest trails.
