Mingchi Forest Recreation Area Introduction

Mingchi Forest Recreation Area is situated at an elevation between 1,150 to 1,700 meters. Its rich ecosystem is home to Mandarin ducks and mallards frequently found by the lakeside, while birds and squirrels can often be seen darting through the forest. Surrounded by towering forests, visitors cannot help but immerse themselves in the refreshing ambiance of forest phytoncide. Mingchi, also known as Chitan, is an artificial alpine lake enveloped by dense forest, shrouded in mist year-round. The emerald waters of Mingchi exude a hazy beauty, earning it the moniker "Jewel of the North Cross." It resembles a paradise on earth. The lakeside garden within the area is a must-see spot when visiting Mingchi Forest Recreation Area. The garden includes a Ciyuan Garden, a Fern Garden, a Jing Shi Garden, a Memorial Park for the birthday of Sun Yat-sen, and forest trails. Walking along the lakeside trail allows visitors to appreciate the dreamy and serene beauty of Mingchi from various angles.
