Heisong Beverage Museum Introduction
When I was a child, one of the most anticipated moments was going to weddings with my parents, especially looking forward to the sweet and sour Oasis juice paired with delicious dishes—an unforgettable flavor! Adding salt to Heysong Sarsaparilla, a homemade remedy for colds, has a prickly sensation that, while my cold hasn't improved, my mood certainly got better. What is your "Heysong memory"? Come take a stroll down the time corridor at the Heysong Beverage Museum and reminisce about the years when we all drank Heysong together. In front of the museum, a whole wall of illuminated Sarsaparilla and soda bottles represents the limited edition from the Changhua Flower Expo in 2004. As you enter the museum, the displays on both sides of the corridor illustrate Heysong's evolution from its beginnings in 1925 with "Jin Xin Trading Company" to becoming a major beverage manufacturer. With its long history, Heysong has grown alongside Taiwanese society; the first bottle of marble soda was released, and the glass bottle Heysong soda at banquet tables form common memories for many people born in the 1950s and 1960s. During the booming 50s, a trend of drinking soda and sarsaparilla emerged, and the museum showcases advertisements, signs, and trademarks from over the years. These include iron signs hanging outside grocery stores, rare electric clocks presented by Heysong to distributors and retailers, retro hand-painted posters, and even packing methods—all elaborately displayed and explained to recreate the glory of Taiwan at that time. In 1995, to celebrate its 70th anniversary, Heysong held an event to collect people, items, and works, gathering a wealth of surrounding artifacts from various places. Artifacts like childhood soda bottle keychains, prizes exchanged for bottle caps, and the earliest iceboxes were stored at the Heysong Museum established in 1996 (the predecessor of the Heysong Beverage Museum), inviting visitors to walk through the years with Heysong and immerse themselves in the unique aesthetic of that era. In addition to static exhibitions, there are also videos presenting the history of Heysong, a retrospective of classic advertisements, and introductions to the latest production equipment. At the end of the tour, visitors will receive a beverage to experience the nostalgic joy of drinking soda.
