Heisong Beverage Museum Introduction
When I was a child, I would go to wedding banquets with my parents, and what I looked forward to most was the sweet and sour Oasis fruit juice paired with delicious dishes, leaving an unforgettable flavor! Adding salt to Heysong Sarsaparilla—everyone's home remedy for a cold, with a prickly and tingling sensation; as soon as you take a sip, your cold might not improve, but your mood certainly gets better. What is your "Heysong memory"? Take a stroll through the Heysong Beverage Museum’s time corridor and reminisce about those years when we all enjoyed Heysong. In front of the museum, there's a wall of illuminated soda bottles, a popular commemorative edition from the 2004 Changhua Flower Expo. As you enter the museum, the exhibits on both sides of the hallway showcase the evolution of Heysong from its early days in 1925 as "Jin Xin Commerce" to becoming a major beverage manufacturer. This long history has grown with Taiwanese society; the first bottle of marble soda was released, and the glass bottle Heysong soda at banquets is a shared memory for many from the classes of the 50s and 60s. During the booming economy of the 1950s, a trend of drinking soda and sarsaparilla emerged. The museum displays historical advertisements, signs, and trademarks throughout the years, not just the iron signs hanging outside grocery stores, but also the limited-edition electric clocks gifted by Heysong to its distributors and retailers, vintage hand-painted posters, and even packaging methods, all showcased with detailed explanations, recreating the glory days of Taiwan. In 1995, for its 70th anniversary, Heysong held an activity to “collect people, items, and works,” gathering a rich array of memorabilia from various places, such as vintage soda bottle keychains, prizes for collecting bottle caps, and the earliest portable coolers, which led to the establishment of the Heysong Museum (the predecessor of Heysong Beverage Museum) in 1996. Visitors are invited to walk through the timeline of Heysong, immersed in a unique sense of beauty from that era. In addition to static exhibitions, there are videos introducing the history of Heysong, classic advertisement retrospectives, and the latest production equipment. At the end of the tour, visitors are given a beverage to experience the nostalgic joy of drinking soda.
