Heisong Beverage Museum Introduction
When I was young, I used to go with my parents to weddings, and what I looked forward to the most was the sweet and sour Oasis fruit juice paired with delicious dishes—an unforgettable mix of flavors! Adding salt to Heysong Sarsaparilla was a home remedy for colds in every household; with its tingling sensation, it somehow made me feel better even if my cold hadn’t healed. What is your "Heysong memory"? Take a trip to the Heysong Beverage Museum's time corridor and recall those years we shared drinking Heysong. In front of the museum, there’s a wall illuminated with Sarsaparilla and soda bottles, a hot-selling limited edition from the 2004 Changhua Flower Expo. As you enter the museum, the displays along the corridor show the evolution of Heysong from the "Hsin Hsin Commerce" era in 1925 to a major beverage company. With a long history, Heysong has grown alongside Taiwan's society; the first bottle of marble soda, and the glass bottle Heysong soda at banquets, are shared memories for many people born in the 50s and 60s. In the 1950s, when Taiwan’s economy was just taking off, a trend for drinking soda and sarsaparilla emerged. The museum showcases a comprehensive collection of historical advertisements, signs, and trademarks, including iron signs hung outside traditional grocery stores, limited edition clocks gifted to distributors and retailers, vintage hand-painted posters, and even packaging methods, all providing detailed displays and explanations that recreate the glory of Taiwan at that time. In 1995, to celebrate its 70th anniversary, Heysong held an event to collect people, items, and works, gathering rich artifacts from various places: keychains made from soda bottles, prizes for collecting bottle caps, and the earliest coolers. These artifacts were showcased at the Heysong Artifact Museum (the predecessor of the Heysong Beverage Museum), established in 1996, inviting visitors to trace the path of time with Heysong and immerse themselves in its unique aesthetic. In addition to static exhibitions, there are also screening videos introducing the history of Heysong, classic advertisement retrospectives, and showcases of the latest production equipment. At the end of the tour, visitors are gifted beverages to experience the nostalgic joy of drinking soda.
