Yakult Factory Introduction
The Yakult Zhongli Factory will not be open for factory tour reservations from December 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025, due to maintenance work on the production line. We apologize for any inconvenience. Do you remember the wonderful memories of seeing the Yakult Lady riding her bicycle delivering Yakult to homes and the joy of tasting a sweet and sour bottle of Yakult during a factory visit? Well-known Yakult has been operating in Taiwan for over half a century. The Yakult factory moved from Xinzhuang, Taipei to Zhongli, Taoyuan in 1999, and in 2013, the new factory was reconstructed on-site. The current Zhongli factory is a modern facility that combines green energy, environmental protection, and technology. When you enter the reception area on the first floor, you will be greeted by a welcoming figure of the Yakult Lady in three dimensions. The factory features a "large floor-to-ceiling window" design that makes the entire exhibition area bright and comfortable. The tour route includes the history of Yakult, early artifacts, product display windows, and a corridor for viewing the production process. Audio-visual guides explain how Yakult is made, allowing visitors to learn about the process from the fermentation of lactic acid bacteria to product manufacturing. You can even experience viewing real-time images of active Yakult bacteria through a microscope. Additionally, along the tour route, you'll find three-dimensional figures of the Yakult Lady, display windows showcasing Yakult bottles from around the world, a large Yakult model made from over 2,000 used bottles, and a cartoon-themed photo spot. In the future, there are plans to establish a merchandise area for Yakult-related products. Outside the factory, there are also energy-saving and environmentally friendly facilities, such as a rainwater recycling system and solar lights, making it an excellent place for outdoor educational activities!
