Yakult Factory Introduction
Due to maintenance work on the production line, the Yakult factory in Zhongli will not be open for factory tour reservations from December 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. (For details, please see the link.) Do you remember the days of childhood when you saw Yakult Mama delivering Yakult door-to-door on her bicycle and you could drink a bottle of the sweet and sour Yakult on a factory visit? Yakult, a household name, has been operating in Taiwan for over half a century. The Yakult factory relocated from Xinzhuang, Taipei, to Zhongli, Taoyuan, in 1999, and a new factory was built on-site in 2013. The new factory in Zhongli is a modern facility that incorporates green energy, environmental protection, and technology. When you enter the reception area on the first floor, you will see a three-dimensional Yakult Mama welcoming figure. The design features large windows that make the visiting area bright and comfortable. The tour route is planned to showcase Yakult's development history, early artifacts, product display cases, and viewing corridors of the manufacturing process. There are audiovisual guides from the cultivation of lactic acid bacteria to the production process, allowing everyone to understand how Yakult is made. You can also experience viewing images of active lactic acid bacteria magnified in real time through a microscope. Additionally, on the tour route, you will see three-dimensional Yakult Mama figures, display cases of Yakult bottles from around the world, a large Yakult model made from more than 2,000 empty Yakult bottles, and a cartoon-style photo area for memorable pictures. There are also plans to set up a section for selling Yakult-related merchandise in the future. The factory grounds are equipped with rainwater recycling systems and solar lights, making it a great place for outdoor education!
