On weekends, come to the market for coffee, lectures, and cooking classes! Strolling along Lingtan Street in the Innovation Base near Longtan Pond, colorful lanterns depicting the landscape of Longtan hang high, while the aroma of freshly baked cakes fills the air, accompanied by cheerful music. It’s hard to imagine that this was once the abandoned Longtan Old First Market Food Street for 14 years! In 2016, a group of local young people born in the 70s and 80s aimed to promote local culture in Longtan by organizing the "Hardneck Market," a fusion of creative stalls and cultural performances, which sparked significant public interest and eventually led to the establishment of the Innovation Base. In 2017, the Innovation Base was set up in the bustling area of the old Longtan First Market and adopted the old name of Longtan - Lingtan. It gathered 20 local creative brands, injecting unprecedented cultural and creative energy into Longtan. Currently, the number of shops has nearly reached 50, offering a rich variety including art studios, dried flowers, local agricultural products, picture book story houses, and light snacks, making culture and creativity more than just abstract design, but a way to enhance the beauty of life. In just a few hundred meters along Lingtan Street, you can see a wonderful combination of the old and the new; tasting familiar yet surprising flavors like salted fish and egg cake and apple salmon gua bao; there's even a erhu classroom where people of all ages can easily enjoy traditional music!
