Ling Tan Street Innovation Base Introduction
On weekends, head to the market for coffee, lectures, and cooking classes! Strolling along Lingtan Street, near Longtan Big Pond, colorful lanterns featuring the landscape of Longtan hang high, and the aroma of freshly baked cakes fills the air, accompanied by lively music. It's hard to imagine that this was once the neglected Longtan Old First Market food street for 14 years! In 2016, a group of local young people from the 70s and 80s, aiming to promote local culture in Longtan, held the "Hard Neck Market," combining creative stalls with artistic performances. This event sparked significant discussion and eventually led to the establishment of the Creative Base. In 2017, the Creative Base chose to settle in the past's busiest area of Longtan - the First Market, named after Longtan's old name, Lingtan, gathering 20 local cultural and creative brands, injecting unprecedented creative energy into Longtan. Currently, nearly 50 shops offer a rich variety, including art studios, dried flowers, local farm products, storybook houses, pastries, and light meals, making creativity not just an abstract concept but a way to bring beauty closer to life. The short stretch of Lingtan Street showcases a wonderful blend of old and new; savor the familiar yet surprising flavors of salty fish cakes and apple salmon guabao, and enjoy a Huqin classroom where people of all ages can easily play traditional music! If you're interested in learning to make traditional Hakka dishes, they offer cooking classes for registration! The lively scenes of the past market are frozen in hand-painted postcards. Push open the vintage wooden door and savor a cup of hand-brewed coffee. The Peach Fortress Story House is the perfect interactive space for families, where you can learn about the past and present of the old town through picture books and hands-on experiences. Embark on your exploration journey and discover the surprises in Lingtan Street's transformation.
