Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall (North Cross-Island Highway Visitor Center) Introduction
The North Cross-Island Highway Visitor Center is the first stop for visitors entering the North Cross-Island Mountain area. It not only provides tourists with travel information and itinerary arrangements but also allows them to learn about the historical stories of the North Cross, especially the life of Mr. Chiang Ching-kuo and the events that took place in the North Cross and Taiwan. Here, visitors can see various artifacts and interactive equipment, appreciating the natural beauty of the North Cross while gaining insight into Taiwan's former leaders and how they led the country through difficult times to today's prosperity. The exhibition on the first floor is themed "The Starting Point of the North Cross" and showcases the features of the North Cross Mountain area and Daxi Woodcraft. Visitors can experience the scenery of the North Cross through the LINE@ official account and new media devices, feeling its charm and collecting its beauty from different perspectives and methods. The exhibition on the second floor is themed "Carrying Heavy Burdens and Walking Difficult Roads," focusing on Mr. Chiang Ching-kuo and the ten major construction projects he promoted, illustrating the political, economic, and diplomatic developments starting from the 1970s, as well as how Taiwan overcame difficulties to progress. Visitors can understand the changes in Taiwan's era through artifacts and interactive experiences with a broad perspective.
