Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall (Beiheng Visitor Center) Introduction
The North Cross Island Highway Visitor Center public restroom will be closed for internal renovations and sanitation equipment upgrades from June 1, 2025, to November 30, 2025. The North Cross Island Highway Visitor Center is the first stop for tourists entering the North Cross Mountain area. It not only provides tourists with travel information and itinerary arrangements but also allows visitors to learn about the historical stories of the North Cross, especially the life of Mr. Chiang Ching-kuo and the events that took place in the North Cross and Taiwan. Here, tourists can see various cultural relics and interactive facilities, allowing them to appreciate the natural beauty of the North Cross while gaining a deeper understanding of Taiwan's former leaders and how they guided Taiwan through difficult times to achieve today's prosperity. The first-floor exhibition, themed "The Starting Point of the North Cross," showcases the characteristics of the North Cross Mountain area and the woodcraft of Daxi. Visitors can use the LINE@ official account and new media devices to experience the scenery of the North Cross from different perspectives and methods, feeling its charm and collecting its beauty. The second-floor exhibition is themed "Bearing Heavy Burdens, Walking Difficult Paths," focusing on Mr. Chiang Ching-kuo and the ten major constructions he promoted, showcasing the political, economic, and diplomatic developments starting from the 1970s, as well as how Taiwan overcame challenges to make progress. Tourists can understand the changes in Taiwan's era through cultural relics and interactive experiences, gaining a broad perspective.
