Cihu Mausoleum Introduction
Cihu Memorial Cemetery is famous for being the final resting place of the late President Chiang Kai-shek of the Republic of China. Cihu is divided into the front and rear lakes, featuring charming water colors and willows that evoke the beauty of Jiangnan. Chiang Kai-shek named this place "Cihu" because it resembled his hometown in Fenghua, Zhejiang, and it held sentimental value for him as a tribute to his mother. He commissioned the construction of a villa here, which is a blend of Minnan and Zhejiang architectural styles. After his passing in 1975, he was interred here. The front and rear lakes within the park are connected by streams, surrounded by beautiful scenery and green mountains, showcasing different natural landscapes in various seasons. In addition to paying respects at the cemetery, visitors should not miss the changing of the guard ceremony, performed by a rotating honor guard from the three armed forces, which captivates domestic and international tourists who pause to observe and take photos.
