Cihu Mausoleum Introduction
The "Cihu Mausoleum" is famous for being the resting place of former President Chiang Kai-shek of the Republic of China. Cihu is divided into the front and rear lakes, with enchanting water colors along the shores and willows swaying, creating a beauty reminiscent of the Jiangnan region. Chiang named this place Cihu because it resembles his hometown of Fenghua in Zhejiang, and he had a deep longing for his mother. He commissioned the construction of a hall here (a blend of Fujian and Zhejiang architectural styles), and after passing away in 1975, he was interred here. The two ponds in the park, front and back, are connected by a stream, surrounded by beautiful scenery and hills, offering different natural views in each season! In addition to visiting the mausoleum, another must-see is the Changing of the Guard ceremony performed by a ceremonial unit rotated among the three armed forces, featuring intricate weapon handling that attracts both domestic and international tourists to stop, observe, and take photos.
