Cihu Mausoleum (Former Cihu) Introduction
The "Cihu Mausoleum" is famous for being the final resting place of former President Chiang Kai-shek of the Republic of China. Cihu is divided into the front and rear lakes, with its charming water color and willows reminiscent of the beautiful scenery of Jiangnan. Chiang chose the name "Cihu" for its resemblance to his hometown in Fenghua, Zhejiang, and built a residence here (a mixed architectural style of Fujian and Zhejiang) due to his longing for his mother. He passed away in 1975 and was laid to rest here. The two lakes in the park, front and rear, are interconnected by streams, surrounded by beautiful scenery and green mountains, showcasing different natural beauty in each season! Besides visiting the mausoleum, a must-see is the changing of the guard ceremony performed by the honor guard, with each branch of the military taking turns to showcase their ceremonial rifle drills every hour, attracting both domestic and international tourists to stop and take photos.
