Cihu Mausoleum (Former Cihu) Introduction
Cihu Memorial Square is famous for being the final resting place of the former President of the Republic of China, Chiang Kai-shek. Cihu is divided into Front Cihu and Rear Cihu, with charming waterfronts and willows that resemble the beauty of Jiangnan. Chiang Kai-shek named this place Cihu because it reminded him of his hometown in Fenghua, Zhejiang, and it was built as a memorial for his mother. After his passing in 1975, he was interred here. The park features interconnected ponds in the front and back, surrounded by beautiful natural scenery and mountains, offering different landscapes throughout the seasons. In addition to visiting the mausoleum, one of the must-see attractions is the changing of the guard ceremony, performed by a ceremonial unit that rotates among the three armed forces, showcasing a variety of rifle drills every hour, which attract both domestic and international tourists.
