Daxi Cihu Trail Introduction
With the passage of time, Cihu Mausoleum has become part of the "Liang-Jiang Cultural Park," a leisure spot with international tourism competitiveness. When visiting Cihu in Daxi, don’t miss the two scenic walking trails near the mausoleum. These paths, known as "Tou-Liao Ecological Trail" and "Cihu Trail," run along the Caoling Creek. The Tou-Liao Ecological Trail, located next to Daxi Mausoleum, is about 1.2 kilometers long and provides beautiful views of the fields and the creek. Along the trail, occasional graceful white egrets can be seen flying by, accompanied by soothing sounds of the flowing water, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. The wide and smooth path ensures a comfortable walk, making it a great outdoor destination for people of all ages, even during the summer heat. Additionally, don't forget to admire the only volcano in the Taoyuan area, the Caoling Mountain, which is also the only shield volcano in Taiwan. Although it hasn't erupted in a long time, its lush landscape is still a sight to behold. In the winter, during the fallow season, you can enjoy the vibrant sea of cosmos flowers that leaves a lasting impression. The Tou-Liao Trail takes about twenty minutes to walk, leading to the Cihu Trail, which begins at the Cihu Visitor Center. Visitors can first obtain tourism information about Cihu and nearby attractions at the center, which also features exhibitions and videos related to the Liang-Jiang era that are worth exploring. Entering the Cihu Trail from the entrance next to the visitor center, you will find that although it is short, the trail allows for a different perspective of Cihu's beauty. The pathway is lined with trees and bamboo groves providing plenty of shade, ensuring you stay out of direct sunlight and enjoy the surrounding greenery. If you walk along the picturesque banks of Cihu Lake, you will reach the end of the trail at Cihu Mausoleum. This location, surrounded by mountains and water, is famous for being the resting place of Chiang Kai-shek and features a garrison of military police. The hourly changing of the guard ceremony has become a focal point for many visitors drawn to witness the colorful rifle drills performed regularly.
