Hou Cihu Introduction
Due to ongoing construction work, the application system for entry to Hou Cihu is currently suspended, and the reopening date will be announced later. We apologize for any inconvenience. >> For more details, see the link. Hou Cihu, shrouded in mystery, has opened to visitors due to the declassification by military units. Originally a small lake where Chiang Kai-shek and his wife would stroll and row boats, the park's trails can be accessed through the side gate of Cihu. After crossing a small hill, it's about a two-kilometer walk with charming views along the way, including remnants from the Martial Law period, such as command posts, bunkers, controlled iron gates, and offices, making it quite worthwhile to visit. When the Taoyuan City Government reopened the site for visits in 2009, they preserved the original appearance of five official residences, recreating the history, ecology, and cultural life of the Chiang family at Hou Cihu, as well as restoring their living space. The park's rich ecology includes a diversity of species such as human-face spiders, birds, and frogs, as well as a forest bathing trail featuring Taiwan’s endemic species, the Xiao Nan wood. As you stroll through, you can admire the reflections on Hou Cihu while enjoying top-tier leisure activities.
