Hutou Mountain Environmental Park Introduction
If you want to capture a 360-degree panoramic view of Taoyuan, you don't need to challenge high altitudes to easily achieve this! Huting Mountain, located less than 5 kilometers from Taoyuan Railway Station, has an ecological park at an elevation of only 251 meters. However, it stands as the highest point in the city, offering unobstructed beautiful scenery illuminated by sparkling stars and city lights, making it a popular local sightseeing spot. Known as "Star Park," Huting Mountain Ecological Park covers about 2.5 hectares. Originally a landfill for Taoyuan City, it was closed at the end of 1998 and successfully transformed into a pleasant green space for enjoying views after being re-planned in August 2002. The park is designed using natural ecological methods to minimize unnecessary damage to the environment. It features walking paths, wooden scenic pavilions, large lawns, and mosaic seating among other facilities. Unlike the pristine, densely wooded environment of Huting Mountain Park, the ecological park offers a broad view overlooking Luzhu, Dayuan, Bade, and Zhongli, making it a great spot for family walks and play during the day. In the evening, visitors can also enjoy the dazzling city nightscape, which is enchanting. The ecological park is only about 1 kilometer from the best-preserved Japanese shrine in Taiwan - the Taoyuan Martyrs' Shrine and Cultural Park, so travelers might consider planning a dual-themed trip that combines nature and culture to deeply explore the beauty of Taoyuan from different perspectives.
