Hutoushan Environmental Park Introduction
Want to capture a 360-degree panoramic view of Greater Taoyuan without challenging high altitudes? Just head to Huto Mountain, located less than 5 kilometers from Taoyuan Railway Station. The Environmental Park within Huto Mountain, standing at a height of only 251 meters, is nonetheless a high point in the city, offering an unobstructed view of dazzling stars and city lights. It has always been a popular local spot for sightseeing. Known as "Star Park," Huto Mountain Environmental Park covers about 2.5 hectares and was originally a landfill for Taoyuan City. It was closed at the end of 1998, and after being redesigned in August 2002, it successfully shed its "infamy," transforming into a great place for eco-friendly leisure in the suburbs. The park employs ecological methods throughout to minimize unnecessary damage to the environment. Within the Environmental Park, there are walking paths, wooden pavilions, large lawns, and mosaic seating facilities. Unlike the towering trees of Huto Mountain Park, the Environmental Park offers a broad view overlooking Luzhu, Dayuan, Bade, and Zhongli, and it is common to see families strolling and playing during the day. In the evening, visitors can also enjoy the splendid urban night scenery that captivates the heart. The Environmental Park is just about 1 kilometer from the best-preserved Japanese shrine in Taiwan, the Taoyuan Martyrs' Shrine and Cultural Park.
