Hutuoshan Park All-Age Friendly Trail Introduction
Do you want your baby to have the chance to get close to nature while living in the city? Are you looking for trails suitable for elderly hiking? The Hutan Mountain All-Age Friendly Trail, located in Taoyuan City, offers a wide and gentle sloped path that is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers, making hiking an age-friendly activity where distance is not a concern. Families can enjoy outings together easily and comfortably! The Hutan Mountain All-Age Friendly Trail is 1.5 kilometers long, starting from the Aul Forest School and following the Huanshan Road (San Sheng Road) to Taoxin Pavilion. It connects existing recreational areas such as the core plaza, picnic areas, Mushroom Pavilion, Rotary Pavilion, and Jingde Temple, while adding the Caterpillar Flower Corridor Tunnel. The spherical iron mesh design is one of the highlights of the trail, where you can walk through and enjoy the swaying shadows of trees in a leisurely manner. There are also squirrel nests platforms and bird nest treehouses; if you are lucky, you may encounter the wildlife and birds that roam the area up close. The themed Rain Drop Fountain and the Three-Layer Ecological Pools (which consist of "Turtle Sunbathing," "Creating a Frog Home," and "Flying Dragons (Dragonflies)") allow you to explore these mischievous ecological habitats. In August 2018, the second phase of the Hutan Mountain All-Age Friendly Trail was completed, extending the total length to 2.5 kilometers. The trail connects from the parking lot at the North District Elderly Cultural and Recreation Activity Center to the Martyrs' Shrine, maintaining a stair-free design throughout. Additionally, the trail can connect to the Huling Windward Trail, leading to the environmentally-friendly park known for its night view of Taoyuan. Unlike traditional concrete paths, the Hutan Mountain All-Age Friendly Trail uses an elevated wooden plank construction, which not only protects the natural habitat of animals and plants but also minimizes soil damage, taking the lead in environmental education! The joys of hiking in the mountains include not only exercising and enjoying a forest bath but also enhancing your experience with biological exploration. You can admire butterflies fluttering among the natural greenery of bald cypress, mountain peach, maple, and nandina, delving into the rich nature and cultural context of Hutan Mountain. The trail connects with other system trails within the park, allowing for visits to attractions such as the Confucius Temple, Jingguo Plum Garden, and the Martyrs' Shrine.
