Hutou Mountain Park All-age Friendly Trail Introduction
Living in the city and want your little one to have a chance to get close to nature? Looking for hiking trails suitable for seniors? The Huto Mountain All-Age Friendly Trail, located in Taoyuan City, offers a spacious and gentle sloped boardwalk, making it easy to navigate with wheelchairs and strollers. Hiking is not a matter of age or distance, making it a pleasant and carefree outing for the whole family! The Huto Mountain All-Age Friendly Trail stretches a total of 1.5 kilometers, starting at the Aor Forest Classroom and following the circular mountain road (Sansheng Road) to the Taoxin Pavilion. Along the way, it connects existing recreational areas such as the core square, picnic area, mushroom pavilion, Rotary Pavilion, and Jingde Shrine, and adds a Caterpillar Flower Corridor tunnel, which is one of the highlights of the trail. Walking inside, you can enjoy the swaying shadows of trees in a relaxed atmosphere. There are also the Squirrel Nest platform and Bird's Nest Treehouse, where you might have a surprise encounter with the wildlife and birds that frequently appear if you're lucky. Each themed area includes the Raindrop Fountain and the Three-Stage Ecological Pond (with themes "Turtle Sunbathing," "Creating a Froggy Home," and "Flying Dragon (Dragonfly)") to explore these little ecological mischiefs’ homes. The second phase of the Huto Mountain All-Age Friendly Trail was completed in August 2018, expanding the total length to 2.5 kilometers. The trail connects from the parking lot of the North District Elderly Cultural and Recreational Activity Center all the way to the Martyrs' Shrine, designed without stairs along the entire route. You can also connect to the Huling Windward Trail, which leads to the Huto Mountain Eco Park, known for its beautiful night views of Taoyuan. Unlike traditional concrete pathways, the Huto Mountain All-Age Friendly Trail utilizes elevated wooden plank construction, which not only preserves the natural habitats of animals and plants but also minimizes soil damage, leading the way in environmental education! The joy of hiking in the mountains allows you to exercise while enjoying a forest bath, and you can additionally embark on a biological experience; admire butterflies dancing amidst the bald cypress, mountain peach, sweet gum, and Nandina domestica's natural greenery, and delve into the rich nature and cultural connotation of Huto Mountain. The trail connects with other systemic trails in the park, allowing visits to attractions such as the Confucius Temple, Jingguo Plum Garden, and the Martyrs' Shrine.
