Hutoushan Park All-Age Friendly Trail Introduction
Living in the city and want to give your baby a chance to get close to nature? Looking for hiking routes suitable for the elderly? The Huzhou Mountain All-Age Friendly Trail, located in Taoyuan City, features a wide and gentle sloped path that allows easy access for wheelchairs and strollers, making hiking a family affair for all ages and abilities! The Huzhou Mountain All-Age Friendly Trail is 1.5 kilometers long, starting from the Aol Forest Academy and following the mountain road (Sansheng Road) to the Taoxin Pavilion. Along the way, it connects existing rest areas including the core plaza, picnic area, mushroom pavilion, rotary pavilion, and Jingde Temple, and adds a caterpillar flower corridor tunnel, which is one of the highlights of the trail with its spherical wire mesh design, allowing visitors to enjoy the swaying tree shadows at leisure. There are also a squirrel nest platform and a bird nest tree house, where, if lucky, you might have a close encounter with woodland creatures and birds. The themed Rain Drop Spring and the Three-Tier Ecological Water Pools (which include "Turtle Sunbathing," "Creating Frog Home," and "Flying Dragon (Dragonfly)") allow you to explore the habitats of these ecological little mischiefs. In August 2018, the second phase of the Huzhou Mountain All-Age Friendly Trail was completed, extending the total length to 2.5 kilometers. The trail connects from the parking lot of the North District Elderly Welfare Activity Center all the way to the Martyrs’ Shrine, also designed without stairs. You can also connect to the Huling Wind Trail leading to the eco park on Huzhou Mountain, renowned for its night views of Taoyuan. Unlike traditional concrete paths, the Huzhou Mountain All-Age Friendly Trail employs elevated wooden plank techniques, allowing for the preservation of natural habitats for animals and plants while minimizing soil degradation, leading the way in environmental education! The joy of hiking in the mountains not only provides exercise and enjoyment of a forest bath but also offers a biological experience; you can admire butterflies fluttering among the bald cypress, mountain peach, sweet gum, and nandina plants. Delve deeper into the rich natural and cultural connotations of Huzhou Mountain. The trail also connects to other pathways in the park, making it easy to visit attractions such as the Confucius Temple, Jingguo Plum Garden, and the Martyrs’ Shrine.
