Living in the city and want your little ones to have a chance to get close to nature? Looking for suitable hiking routes for elders? The all-age friendly trail at Huto Mountain, located in Taoyuan City, features wide and gentle sloped boardwalks, making it easy for wheelchairs and strollers to navigate. Hiking becomes a family-friendly activity where age and pace are not an issue, allowing for a relaxing time together outdoors! The all-age friendly trail at Huto Mountain is 1.5 kilometers long, starting from the Aol Forest Education Center, following the mountain road (San Sheng Road) to the Taoxin Pavilion. This path connects existing rest areas such as the core plaza, picnic area, mushroom pavilion, Rotary Pavilion, and Jingde Temple, while additionally featuring the Caterpillar Flower Tunnel, which is one of the highlights of the trail with its spherical iron net design. Walking through it, you can enjoy the swaying shadows of trees and a sense of leisure. There are also Squirrel Nest Platform and Bird Nest Tree House, where you might have a delightful encounter with the wildlife and birds wandering around. With themed features like the Dripping Water Spring and the Three-tiered Ecological Pool (which includes "Turtle Sunbathing", "Building Frog Home", and "Flying Dragon (Dragonfly)"), you can discover these ecological quirks. The second phase of the all-age friendly trail was completed in August 2018, extending the total length to 2.5 kilometers. The trail connects from the parking lot of the North District Senior Citizen Activity Center all the way to the Martyrs' Shrine, also designed without stairs. An additional connection along the Huling Windward Trail leads to the Huto Mountain Eco-Park, renowned for its night view in Taoyuan. Differing from traditional concrete pathways, the Huto Mountain all-age friendly trail adopts an elevated wooden boardwalk construction, which not only protects the natural habitats of animals and plants but also reduces soil damage and serves as a leader in environmental education! The joy of hiking in the mountains allows you to enjoy exercise while experiencing a forest bath, and you can enhance your visit with a biological experience; appreciate the butterflies fluttering among the natural greenery of bald cypress, mountain peach, sweet gum, and nandina. The trail connects to other system trails within the park, allowing easy access to attractions such as the Confucius Temple, Jingguo Plum Garden, and Martyrs' Shrine.
