Hutoushan Park All-Age Friendly Trail Introduction
Living in the city and want your little one to get close to nature? Looking for suitable hiking trails for seniors? The Hutoushan All-Age Friendly Trail in Taoyuan City features a wide and gentle sloped boardwalk that is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers, making hiking a family-friendly activity! The Huatoushan All-Age Friendly Trail stretches 1.5 kilometers, starting from Aol Forest School and following the mountain road (San Sheng Road) to Taoxin Pavilion. Along the way, it connects various recreational areas such as the core plaza, picnic area, mushroom pavilion, Rotary Pavilion, and Jingde Shrine, and includes a caterpillar flower corridor tunnel, which is one of the highlights of the trail, where you can appreciate the swaying shadows of trees and enjoy a leisurely atmosphere. There are also a squirrel's nest platform and a bird's nest treehouse, where you might have a surprise encounter with mountain animals and birds that wander through the area. The themed rain drop spring and the three-tier ecological ponds (featuring "Turtle Sunbathing," "Creating Frog Homes," and "Flying Dragon (Dragonfly)") let you explore the habitats of these ecological little mischiefs. In August 2018, the second phase of the Hutoushan All-Age Friendly Trail was completed, extending the total length to 2.5 kilometers. The trail continues from the parking lot of the North District Elderly Cultural and Recreation Activity Center all the way to the Martyrs' Shrine, maintaining a no-step design throughout. An alternative route along the Huling Wind Trail connects to the Hutoushan Eco-Park, known for its beautiful night views of Taoyuan. Unlike traditional concrete trails, the Hutoushan All-Age Friendly Trail employs an elevated wooden boardwalk design, preserving the natural habitats of animals and plants while minimizing soil disruption, leading the way in environmental education! Hiking in the mountains not only allows you to exercise and enjoy the forest bath but also offers an additional biological experience as you admire butterflies dancing among the自然 greenery of bald cypress, Mountain Peach, sweet gum, and Nandina domestica, diving deeper into the rich natural and cultural connotations of Hutoushan. The trail connects with other system trails within the park, allowing you to visit attractions such as the Confucius Temple, Jingguo Plum Garden, and the Martyrs' Shrine.
