Lotte Taoyuan Baseball Stadium Introduction
"Hit! Home run!" and "Encore! Encore!" Whether at a baseball game or a concert, the Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium (now known as Rakuten Taoyuan Baseball Stadium), which opened in 2009, has carried countless passionate memories for many people. According to statistics, the number of attendees for the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) regular season games has repeatedly surpassed 400,000 each year in recent years, earning it the title of "super popular stadium." Rakuten Taoyuan Baseball Stadium is located at Airport MRT A19 Taoyuan Sports Park Station, making it very convenient as "just take the MRT and you arrive at the stadium." Surrounding facilities include basketball courts, softball fields, Qingpu Baseball Field, shopping malls, Taoyuan Art Museum, and large accommodations, creating a comprehensive leisure area. The Rakuten Taoyuan Baseball Stadium covers approximately 4 hectares and is designed to be one basement level and three above-ground levels. When it was first completed, it had only 12,000 seats in the infield bleachers. In 2012, due to the hosting of the World University Baseball Championship, the outfield bleachers were expanded, increasing the total seating capacity to 20,000, making it one of the stadiums with the highest seating capacity in Taiwan along with Kaohsiung Chengcing Lake Baseball Stadium. To offer fans a different viewing experience, "Rock Seats" are specially set up on the first and third base sides, allowing fans to feel the exciting atmosphere up close as if they were in a rock concert area. If you want to enjoy the fun with a large group of friends, consider booking a VIP Suite located in Zone B and J of the infield lower level, where you can yell freely in an independent space! The stadium also features "Monkey's Happy Fry," a culinary experience offering outdoor dining while watching the game, and on public holidays, they even launch two dining packages including ying-yang hot pot and exquisite barbecue, making the game-day celebration limitless! In 2020, Taiwan's Rakuten officially took over the Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium as its home ground and established the team "Rakuten Monkeys," along with the exclusive cheerleading squad Rakuten Girls. The stadium not only regularly holds unique themed parties but also invites heavyweight guests for lively performances, igniting excitement even before the games begin. Over the years, Rakuten Taoyuan Baseball Stadium has hosted various events, including CPBL regular season games, the Asia Professional Baseball Championship, the Asia Winter Baseball League, the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Premier12, and large concerts by bands such as Mayday, Fire EX., Guns N' Roses, and BTS.
