Whether it's a baseball game or a concert, the Rakuten Taoyuan Baseball Stadium, which opened in 2009 (formerly known as Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium), has since carried the passionate memories of many. According to statistics, in recent years, the attendance for watching the Chinese Professional Baseball League's regular season has repeatedly exceeded 400,000 each year, earning it the title of "super popular stadium". The Rakuten Taoyuan Baseball Stadium is located at the A19 Taoyuan Sports Park station on the Airport MRT, enjoying the convenience of "MRT right to the stadium." Surrounding it are basketball courts, softball fields, Qingpu Baseball Stadium, shopping malls, the Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts, and large accommodations, creating a comprehensive leisure landscape. Covering an area of approximately 4 hectares, the stadium consists of 1 basement level and 3 above-ground levels. Initially, it had 12,000 seats in the infield stands when completed. However, it was expanded to 20,000 seats in 2012 with the addition of outfield stands for the World University Baseball Championship, making it one of the stadiums with the largest seating capacity in Taiwan, alongside the Kaohsiung Chengching Lake Stadium. To offer fans a unique viewing experience, the stadium features the "Rock Seats" on the first and third base sides, allowing fans to feel the exciting atmosphere up close, as if they are in a concert's rock zone. For those wanting to enjoy time with a large group of friends, VIP Suites located in the infield lower sections B and J can be reserved, providing a private space for ultimate comfort and enjoyment! The "Taoyuan Happy Fry" restaurant goes beyond traditional sports dining, offering outdoor dining with a view of the game. On public holidays, they even launch two dining projects featuring hot pot and exquisite barbecue, ensuring the fun during games knows no limits! In 2020, Rakuten officially took over the Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium as its home ground and established the team "Rakuten Monkeys" with their dedicated cheerleading squad, the Rakuten Girls. The stadium not only holds themed events regularly but also invites high-profile guests for exciting performances, stirring up the atmosphere even before the game starts.
