Rakuten Monkeys Baseball Stadium Introduction
"Hit! Home Run!" and "Encore! Encore!" Whether it's a baseball game or a concert, the Rakuten Taoyuan Baseball Stadium (originally named Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium), which opened in 2009, has carried many people's passionate memories. According to statistics, in recent years, the number of attendees for watching the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) regular season games has repeatedly exceeded 400,000 annually, earning it the title of "super popular stadium." The Rakuten Taoyuan Baseball Stadium is located at A19 Taoyuan Sports Park on the Airport MRT line, enjoying the convenience of "arriving at the stadium directly from the MRT station." Nearby, there are basketball courts, softball fields, Qingpu Baseball Stadium, shopping malls, Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts, and large accommodations, creating a comprehensive leisure area. Covering approximately 4 hectares, the stadium is designed with one basement level and three above-ground levels. Initially, it had only 12,000 seats in the infield stands; however, in 2012, due to hosting the World University Baseball Championship, it expanded to include outfield stands, increasing the total number of seats to current 20,000. It is one of the largest stadiums in Taiwan by seating capacity along with Kaohsiung Chengching Lake Baseball Stadium. To provide fans with a unique viewing experience, special "Rock Seats" are set up on both the first and third base sides, allowing fans to feel the excitement of the game up close, as if they are in a rock concert area. If you want to enjoy the game with a large group of friends, you might consider booking the VIP suites located in areas B and J of the inner east and west stands, where you can let loose in a private space! Offering even more than a sports restaurant, "Monkeys Happy Fry" pioneeringly provides outdoor dining and viewing services. On national holidays, it even launches two dining options: duck pot and exquisite barbecue, ensuring boundless excitement during the game! In 2020, Rakuten officially took over Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium as its home ground, establishing the team "Rakuten Monkeys" along with the dedicated cheerleading team, Rakuten Girls. The stadium not only hosts themed parties periodically but also invites heavyweight guests for dynamic performances, igniting excitement before the game. In addition to the CPBL regular season games, the Rakuten Taoyuan Baseball Stadium has held events such as the Asia Professional Baseball Championship, Asia Winter Baseball League, World Baseball Softball Confederation Premier12, and has hosted large concerts by bands like Mayday, Fire EX., Guns N' Roses, and BTS.
