Simalu Village Introduction
Sima Khuu, known as the "Tribe of God," is located in the misty region of northeastern Taiwan, at an altitude of approximately 1,600 meters. Although the area near the village has been developed, just a two-hour hike away lies a pristine forest, the hometown of cypress trees. The year 1975 was significant for Sima Khuu, as it was the year electricity was introduced. In 1995, the Sima Khuu Development Association was established to create a community that lives harmoniously with nature and cultural heritage, building a church, guesthouses, and classrooms, while actively preserving Atayal culture. This paradise, situated on the southwestern ridge of the Xueshan Mountain range, invites visitors to set aside their mundane worries and attentively listen to the sounds of cascading waterfalls and mountain springs, experiencing the majestic, ancient grandeur of towering cypress trees.
