Sima Kous Trail Introduction
The trail starts at the Smangus Tribe and ends at the Giant Tree Grove; the Smangus Trail is relatively flat, with no particularly difficult sections, and the steep slopes are short (a distance of five kilometers with an elevation difference of less than 100 meters). According to the top ten sacred trees ranking published by the Forestry Bureau in 1996, the second and third sacred trees are both located in the sacred tree area of Smangus, and both of these trees belong to the Taiwan Red Cypress, with trunks that require over twenty people holding hands to encircle. The trail offers rich natural scenery and flora and fauna, making it a noteworthy observation site.
