Simakus Trail Introduction
The trail entrance is located in the Sima Kusi Tribe, with the endpoint at the giant trees area. The Sima Kusi Trail is relatively flat and does not have any particularly difficult sections; the steep routes are all short (a five-kilometer distance with an elevation difference of less than 100 meters). According to the Forestry Bureau's ranking of the top ten sacred trees published in 1996, the second and third-ranked sacred trees are both located in the sacred tree area of Sima Kusi. These two sacred trees in Sima Kusi are both Taiwania cryptomerioides, and their main trunks require over twenty people holding hands to encircle. The trail is rich in natural scenery and flora and fauna, making it worth observing.
