Simacus Trail Introduction

The trailhead is located in the Smangus tribe, and it ends at the grove of giant trees. The Smangus Trail is relatively flat along the way, with no particularly difficult sections; the steep sections are short, with a total distance of five kilometers and an elevation difference of less than 100 meters. According to the Forestry Bureau's ranking of the top ten sacred trees announced in 1996, the second and third sacred trees are both located in the sacred tree area of Smangus. Both of these sacred trees belong to the red cypress species, and their trunks require more than twenty people holding hands to encircle. The trail is rich in natural landscapes and flora and fauna, making it a worthy subject for observation.
