Wulai Sky Train Introduction

The Wulai tram initially served the purpose of transporting timber. Due to the growing demand from tourists after the development of the Wulai Waterfall for tourism, passenger service officially started in 1963, using manual push carts to transport visitors. In response to the increasing number of tourists, motorization was implemented in 1974, using diesel engines to power the trams. In 1987, a tunnel was excavated at the waterfall station to replace the original turntable, and this system has been in use ever since. The operational route runs from Wulai to the waterfall, covering a total length of 1.5 kilometers, operating daily from 9 AM to 5 PM, with adjusted operating hours during the summer peak season, serving passengers on a first-come, first-served basis.

Transportation Methods：[By Car]: Take National Highway No. 3 and exit at Xindian Interchange → Xinhai Road in Xindian → Beiyi Road → Turn right onto Xinwu Road → Wulai, the journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes. [Public Transportation]: Take the MRT to transfer to bus: Ride the MRT Xindian Line to the end at Xindian Station → Transfer to Xindian Bus "Taipei - 849 - Wulai" (for departure times and routes, please check the Xindian Bus website) to Wulai Main Station (Wulai Old Street).
