Wu Tsung-Lin Gonglo Copper Sculpture Studio Introduction
At dusk, the sound of gongs echoes through the valley of the Nanshi River in Wulai. The loud sound of the gongs plays a vital role in Taiwan's traditional music. The Wu Tsong-Lin Gong Sculpture Studio is located by the Nanshi River, near the Wulai Scenic Bridge. Wu Tsong-Lin, an artist from Wulai, has been dedicated to gong making for over 40 years, handcrafted more than 6,000 gongs, and is one of Taiwan's few handmade gong makers and artists. He trained at a factory in Sanchong and returned to Wulai to create gongs and bronze sculptures, winning the New Taipei City Traditional Arts Artist Award in 2011.
