Wunuan Stone Arch Bridge Introduction

The Wunuan Stone Bridge is located near the Shicheng Railway Station in Jiaoxi Township. Named after Wunuan Harbor, it is also known as "Siwei Bridge." The bridge is approximately 4 meters long and 2.6 meters wide. During the Qing Dynasty, it served as the main official road from Jiaoxi to Yilan. The Wunuan Stone Bridge was originally paved with six long stone slabs, but later the bridge deck was widened using cement pillars to separate the stone slabs. It is said that the bridge was built for ships carrying ballast stones from mainland China, which traveled from Wushi Harbor through Zikou Creek to Wunuan Harbor.
