Shihchao Leisure Agriculture Area Introduction
Located in Shichao Village, Jiaoxi Township, the "Shichao Leisure Agricultural Area" covers an area of nearly 300 hectares, with rich agricultural and fishery resources. This includes 138 hectares of farmland, 101 hectares of fish ponds, 6 hectares of grasslands, and 5 hectares of abandoned fish ponds. The area has low-lying terrain and many rivers and ditches, with gates present on both large and small rivers, which is a characteristic feature of the region. Because the coastal area has not been cemented, the ecology remains pristine and the vegetation is intact. It is situated in a tidal zone where saltwater and freshwater meet, supporting over 20 species of fish, shrimp, and shellfish. Numerous waterbirds also inhabit the area during winter, making it an excellent birdwatching spot. Records indicate the presence of 178 species, including rare visitors such as the Black-faced Spoonbill, White Stork, Black-crowned Night Heron, and Bean Goose!
