Xie Xin Tea House Introduction
Nestled in the lush mountains, the 【Xiexin Teahouse】 is located next to the Lion's Mountain Visitor Center and is a tranquil haven not to be missed when visiting Hsinchu County. The teahouse's architecture blends traditional Hakka style with natural elements, featuring a classic sloped roof, jar decorations, and bamboo weaving, collectively creating a rich cultural ambiance that makes it a popular spot for travelers to take photos. Its outdoor dining area is a highlight, situated under a tung tree; during late spring in April and May, the tung flowers bloom like snowflakes, beautifully complementing the Hakka cuisine served here, making one feel as if they are in a painting of the mountains, calm and refreshed. The name Xiexin Teahouse is derived from “calm the restless heart, and rest is enlightenment,” signifying the hope that travelers can set aside their worries and find a moment of rest here, experiencing the essence of “a tranquil heart and distant tea fragrance.” The location was originally Shishan Elementary School, which was revitalized and repurposed as the "Lion's Head Mountain Visitor Service Center" after the establishment of the Sanshan National Scenic Area Administration in 2001, becoming an important node linking ecological nature and cultural history. The teahouse was transformed from the former teachers' dormitory, retaining its original sloped roof and rustic structure, and reconstructing the space with natural materials to present a simple, warm, and Hakka spirit of architectural aesthetics. The old classrooms and restrooms have also been repurposed into an "Ecological Classroom" and "Visitor Center," allowing visitors not only to enjoy tea but also to gain a deeper understanding of the local culture and natural environment.
