Hengshan Station Introduction
Hengshan Station is one of the stations along the Neiwan Line of Taiwan Railways. The original wooden station building has long been demolished, leaving only a waiting pavilion, and it is categorized as a non-staffed stop. Currently, the station lacks a station building, and for most of the time, it is deserted, as if time has frozen. The platform and the tracks at Hengshan Station are lined with many cherry blossom trees, which attract numerous visitors for photography during the cherry blossom season. In the non-cherry blossom season, the lush greenery combined with passing colorful trains provides a serene backdrop. With not many tourists lingering here, visitors can take many beautiful photos without worrying about being disturbed by others. A small trip in Hengshan can start from in front of the station. After taking fantastic photos, you might as well head to the nearby station street for some food and drinks. This street has a specialized herbal tea shop and an old noodle shop that has been open for decades. Grab a bottle of healthy herbal tea to stay hydrated, and then enjoy a bowl of Hakka flat noodles or Hakka little dumplings. After eating and drinking to your heart's content, take the time to explore this charming and simple little town of Hengshan.
