Gaoping Tomato Farm Introduction
Gaoping Tomato Farm, located at 20.8K on County Road 118 in Guanxi Township, is a certified planting area through the Jiyuanpu program, ensuring that freshly harvested fruits are safe to eat. To facilitate fruit picking, it is operated in two locations; Gaoping Farm is situated in Datong Village, Guanxi Township, Hsinchu County, about 2 kilometers from the Guanxi Interchange heading towards Xinpu, on the right side of a raised ground, covering an area of approximately one hectare. Gaoping No. 2 Farm is located in Shiguang Village, Guanxi Township, Hsinchu County (19.8K on County Road 118), with a much larger planting area than Gaoping No. 1 Farm. Both farms cultivate tomatoes and colorful sweet peppers, with the harvest season running from October each year to May of the following year, priced by weight. For visitors who come for fruit picking on weekdays, it is highly recommended to visit the newly opened Gaoping No. 2 Farm, which offers a more spacious fruit-picking area and innovative facilities. Among the fruits at Gaoping Farm, the most popular varieties with visitors are the large and beautiful Momotaro tomatoes, as well as the sweet red and yellow cherry tomatoes. In addition to providing tasting samples at the storefront, the farm also offers telephone booking for home delivery services and has set up a section for the sale of agricultural products, along with activities such as DIY coloring, making traditional rice cakes, and various family-friendly events. Whether it’s the management of the farm or the recreational activities, they are well worth a visit for an experiential tour. The orchards utilize greenhouse cultivation, growing various delicious, safe, and healthy tomato varieties, along with colorful sweet peppers, corn, cucumbers, and seasonal vegetables.
