Bamboo Forest Wellness Village Cooperative Introduction
In 2010, Kuo Wen-piao established the "Zhulindong Wellness Cooperative," focusing on the production and sales of economic crops such as sawdust shiitake mushrooms and golden needle mushrooms. He believes that agricultural development must start from the concept of coexisting with people and the environment, which is why he avoids planting high-altitude vegetables and prioritizes species restoration. If a tree is cut down for development, at least two or more will be planted in return, adhering to sustainable principles to seek community development. There were already wild golden needle mushrooms in the area, so under favorable soil and climate conditions, he established the second special crop marketing class in Wufeng Township to begin cultivating golden needle mushrooms. Additionally, collaborations have been initiated with Taipei Medical University and other institutions, and contracts have been established with biotechnology companies, leading to the development of more diversified product applications such as tea bags and golden needle mushroom dishes.
