Bamboo Forest Wellness Village Cooperative Introduction
In 2010, Kuo Wen-biao established the "Bamboo Forest Wellness Cooperative," focusing on the production and sales of economic crops such as sawdust mushrooms and golden needle mushrooms. He believes that agricultural development must start from the concept of coexistence between people and the environment, thus he does not cultivate high-altitude vegetables but emphasizes species restoration. If a tree is cut down for development, at least two or more will be replanted, adhering to sustainable principles to seek community development. There were already wild golden needle mushrooms in the area, so under suitable soil and climatic conditions, the second crop production and marketing group for specialty crops in Wufeng Township was established to begin cultivation of golden needle mushrooms. Additionally, collaborations with institutions like Taipei Medical University were pursued, and contracts with biotech companies were established to develop more diversified products, including tea bags and golden needle mushroom meals.
