Bamboo Forest Wellness Village Cooperative Introduction
In 2010, Kuo Wen-Piao established the Zhulin Wellness Cooperative, focusing on the production and sale of economic crops such as log-grown mushrooms and golden thread lilies. He believes that agricultural development must start from the concept of coexisting with people and the environment; therefore, he does not cultivate high-altitude vegetables but focuses on species restoration. If a tree is cut down for development, at least two or more will be replanted, adhering to the principles of sustainability to seek community development. Since there were already wild golden thread lilies in the area, under suitable soil and climate conditions, the second class of specialty crop production and marketing was established in Wufeng Township, starting the cultivation of golden thread lilies. Additionally, he collaborates with Taipei Medical University and other institutions on industry-academia partnerships, as well as contracting with biotechnology companies, gradually developing a more diversified range of product applications such as tea bags and golden thread lily dishes.
