Shih Yan Tzu Ancient Trail Introduction
Shih Ying Tzu Old Trail is located in the Shitoushan Scenic Area of Emei Township, Hsinchu County, near Qixing Village of Emei and Nankeng Village of Beipu. It is also known as Shih Fen Old Trail, which in Hakka means "hill covered with stones." In the early days, it served as a transportation route for the ancestors transporting goods and migrating from Beipu through Emei to Nanzhuang, later evolving into a recreational hiking trail. Along the way, visitors can admire many remnants of the agricultural era, such as terraced field ruins cultivated along the slopes and the irrigation channels used during that time, which testify to the hard work of the ancestors. The rich ecological environment and deep cultural history surrounding the old trail offer beautiful scenery and stories worth exploring for tourists who love history, culture, or nature.
