Youluo Mountain Trail Introduction
Trail Announcement: The section of the Oil Luo Mountain Trail from the second trailhead to the summit is temporarily closed due to forestry operations conducted by the Hsinchu Branch of the Forestry Bureau. To ensure your safety, please refrain from entering. The Yunwu Forest Trail is a classic intermediate mountain route located at Oil Luo Mountain in Huayuan Village, Wufeng Township, Hsinchu County. It is renowned as the "most beautiful intermediate mountain" and is one of the three famous mountains in Wufeng. The trail starts from the first trailhead at the north end of the Luoshan Forest Road, winding through layers of cedar forest with dancing shadows, featuring a mix of gentle and steep paths. It takes about one and a half hours to reach the summit, making it a route that combines natural scenery with the joy of hiking. Due to its location in the misty zone, the area is often shrouded in light fog, especially in the early morning and afternoon, making a stroll through it feel like entering a misty forest filled with dreamy landscapes, bringing peace of mind. Even in the scorching summer, it remains cool and pleasant, becoming a hidden retreat for many hikers. While the views from the summit are limited, on clear days, one can still catch glimpses of the majestic views of Dabajian Mountain and the Oil Xia ridge, uplifting the spirit. If stamina and experience allow, hikers can continue to hike over Xiu Mountain and Maibala Mountain, challenging the well-known "Youxia Mai" traversing route, which takes about 12 to 15 hours, making it a must-visit sacred place for intermediate mountain enthusiasts. In addition to hiking, don't miss the opportunity to visit the nearby Huayuan Village after descending, and experience the local indigenous culture. In the winter, you can also head to the Qingquan Hot Springs area for a dual healing experience of forest bathing and hot spring soaking, perfect for concluding your journey.
