Yamai Tribe Introduction
Traveling from Zhudong along County Road 122 towards Wufeng, the scenery in the mountainous area along the way is enchanting. After passing the Wufeng Township Office, turn onto Luoping Road, and it won't be long before you reach YAMAI Village. "YAMAI" means "stone" in the Atayal language of Wufeng Township. The area, adjacent to a stream and surrounded by forested mountains forming a canyon, presents a naturally beautiful landscape, resembling a paradise on earth. Don traditional shawls, apply face tattoos, and transform into an Atayal warrior for a rare tribal experience. Follow the footsteps of a hunter guide to explore the hunting trails, learn about hunting and trap making, as well as participate in archery lessons and tribal farming crafts. Here, visitors can not only experience the warmth of the Atayal friends but also gain a deeper understanding of tribal culture.
