New Walu Hakka Cultural Preservation Zone Introduction
The New Wawoo Hakka Cultural Preservation Area is an old settlement preservation area. In November 2006, the Hsinchu County Government allocated it to the Hakka Affairs Council free of charge, in collaboration with local community groups such as the Zhongxing Community and the Flower Drum Team to promote Hakka traditional arts activities. On one hand, from the perspective of cultural creativity and knowledge economy, it nurtures local cultural creative industries through traditional Hakka interpretations; on the other hand, in terms of urban development, it serves not only as a leisure park green space but also enriches urban diversity, becoming a new urban center that showcases local characteristics. In December 2010, the Cultural Assets Section of the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau took over to continue related activities and strengthen mechanisms for local interaction to gain more diversified resources and operational models.
