New Walu Hakka Cultural Preservation Area Introduction
The New Wahu Hakka Cultural Preservation Area is an old settlement preservation area. In November 2006, the Hsinchu County Government allocated it to the Hakka Affairs Council for free. It integrates the Zhongxing Community and local groups such as the flower-drum troupe to promote traditional Hakka art activities. On one hand, from the perspective of cultural creativity and knowledge economy, it cultivates local cultural and creative industries through the interpretation of traditional Hakka culture; on the other hand, in terms of urban development, it serves not only as a leisure park and green space but also enriches urban diversity, becoming the Liujia New Urban Center that showcases local characteristics. In December 2010, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Hsinchu County sent its Cultural Heritage Section there, continuing related activities while enhancing community engagement mechanisms to secure more diverse resources and operating models.
