New Wawa Hakka Cultural Preservation Area Introduction
The New Walu Hakka Cultural Preservation Area is a historic settlement preservation area. In November 2006, the Hsinchu County Government generously allocated it to the Hakka Affairs Council, integrating it with local organizations such as the Zhongxing Community and the Flower Drum Troupe to promote traditional Hakka arts activities. On one hand, from the perspective of cultural creativity and knowledge economy, it aims to cultivate local cultural creative industries through traditional Hakka interpretations. On the other hand, regarding urban development, it serves not only as a recreational park green space but also embodies rich urban diversity values, becoming a showcase of local characteristics in the six emerging new urban centers. In December 2010, the Cultural Heritage Division of the Hsinchu County Cultural Bureau took over, continuing relevant activities while enhancing participatory mechanisms for local interaction to secure more diversified resources and operational models.
