Near Tsao Song Junior High School in Shuilin Township, there is an inconspicuous small restaurant, decorated with bamboo on the outside, with a small sign that reads "Tsao Song Inn." The owner, Huang Wen-Jyun, returned home from the north seven years ago to open the restaurant, which has since become a culinary highlight spoken of by the locals. Huang Wen-Jyun, who is full of artistic flair, has decorated his traditional courtyard home into a rustic restaurant styled after the 1950s, featuring old singer posters, vinyl music, red lanterns, vintage furniture, and various early government propaganda signs such as "Report Spies, Rewards from the Government," making it feel like stepping back in time. The dishes served in the restaurant are all home-cooked meals, and to ensure freshness, he insists on using local ingredients, keeping the "food mileage" within five kilometers whenever possible. Ingredients such as Kouhu eel, Taiwan tilapia, local chickens, and eels are featured. The backyard also has space for growing eggplants, chili peppers, papayas, and other vegetables, which are used as needed. Various local ingredients in Huang Wen-Jyun's hands are used creatively, leaving a delicious memory for food enthusiasts.
