Orange Farm Introduction

Winding up the mountain road through Qixing Village in Emei Township, the farmland is filled with tarocco oranges and sugar oranges, their fruits abundant and fragrant. Upon entering Juxiang Farm, one is greeted by a naturally grown orchard, where bug marks and mottled peels can be seen on the fruit trees—a symbol of “fire oranges” that signifies pesticide-free and natural cultivation. Although the oranges here may not have perfect appearances, they are rich in aroma with a unique sweet and sour taste. The farm adheres to not using chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides, and even avoids natural materials as much as possible, allowing the orchard to serve as a habitat for pangolins, frogs, bees, and spiders, embodying ecological coexistence and sustainable land use. Juxiang Farm manages the orchard using natural farming methods, allowing fruit trees and land to thrive together. The orchard retains orange trees older than twenty years and employs manual methods to manage pests, such as pruning dead branches and burning diseased plants to maintain the orchard's health. This respect and commitment to the land have also earned the farm green conservation certification and passed multiple food safety inspections, ensuring every orange can be safely consumed. In addition to fresh fruit, the farm also uses the peels of the tarocco orange in baking and desserts, offering unique products such as orange-scented European-style bread and handmade Italian ice cream. The bread is made with only orange peels, wheat flour, water, yeast, and salt—simple and pure, yet infused with strong fruit aromas and the warmth of the land. Juxiang Farm is not just an orchard; it’s a healing space to experience natural farming and feel the power of the land. Whether tasting the fragrant orange bread, picking fruit in the orchard, or simply enjoying the sounds of insects and birds in the mountains, this place encourages one to slow down and reconnect with nature and the inner self.
